Story
Speckles is a 13-year-old Cocker Spaniel who is currently in her pick-me girl era. She has many tried & true ways to get the attention of others…rolling all over blankets on her bed (or your bed, she is flexible) crawling under them, only to peek out and make sure you are still watching. Running around like she stole something & wanting you to chase her; Her show-stopper is tilting her head & batting her big, cloudy eyes at you. She like to have fun, but she loves to chill. Especially with her human. She is especially fond of Rom Coms & late-night talk shows, but enjoys watching sports on the weekend. She is always up for having friends over & being seen all over town. She’s down for whatever you’d like to do. She’s not bossy or loud. She is a lady at her core & has a ton of confidence, but she is happy to make you the center of attention. After 13 years of living the good- life, she lost her family & ended up in a place she thought she’d never be…a homeless shelter for dogs! But they were kind to her there & assisted her in finding to best place to receive the medical care she badly needed. That’s when she was connected to #foccasrescue. She was able to get all of her dental concerns taken care of. Then her doctor found a breast mass that was concerning & recommended a mastectomy. During her surgery, other breast masses were found & her entire mammary chain was removed & she was spayed the same day. The whole ordeal barely slowed her down. At her post-op follow-up, she had a clear chest x-ray! Her doctor thinks all of her cancer was removed & there is no indication of it spreading. He believes, considering her age, she is likely to pass from another disease, or maybe her parts will just wear out. Either way, she is determined to make the most of every moment & spread the most joy possible. Speckles has no adoption fee to the right adopter. All she asks is for the same kind of love she’s been shown her entire life and she will reciprocate in spades. Even though she’s lively, she loves naps and takes them often. She is quite a snuggler.
