Story
Benji is currently living in a foster home in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Benji is about 31 pounds and 3 years old. Benji was surrendered to Paddy’s Paws because his previous owner could no longer take care of him. They were sad to let him go, but they knew he would be in good hands. Benji was raised with adults, and older children in his previous home. Benji has been through a pretty big transition. He had been with his family for three years and is adjusting to a whole new life in foster. Despite this, he warms quickly to all people and other dogs once given a chance to settle in. Benji LOVES children! Once you are part of his circle then he will show you his happy and affectionate side. Benji is very playful with other dogs and loves to play with one of the other dogs in his foster home. The other dogs are just too old to play with Benji, but he lives with 3 other dogs and gets along with all of them. Benji loves to play fetch outside and spend time with his foster family in their yard. Benji is mostly housetrained. He is working on perfecting his housetraining skills in his foster home. We think this will improve as he adjusts to a set routine and regular potty breaks outside. He goes right to the back door when he hears the word "outside." Benji will be up to date on vaccines, and he will be neutered and groomed soon! Interested in adoption? The first step is an application at paddyspaws.blogspot.com. Please do not apply if pets in the home are not up to date per our website requirements or are not altered. Our rescue adopts to Wisconsin and Illinois. Our requirements for Illinois applications are: excellent vet history, no children under 7 in the home, and an owned home. Wisconsin does not have these requirements, though we will not consider applications where pets are missing core veterinary care. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once approved a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $250. Story
Jimin is a 2-year-old Cocker Spaniel/Dachshund mix who weighs about 21 lbs. with a sweet personality. He is doing well in his foster home learning the rules of living in a house. He loves to wander around on his tiny legs wagging his tail and exploring. Jimin is gentle and good with other dogs and is believed to be ok around cats. He currently lives in a family with teens and does great and it is expected he will do great with small children as well. He spent most of his life as an outdoor dog so is working on his house manners but is doing well. He consistently walks on a leash and is doing better every day. His potty training is improving as well daily with a consistent schedule and lots of opportunities. Jimin is a sweet cuddle bug looking for his forever family. Jimin is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. Rey of Hope Rescue is a locally based dog & cat rescue in Milwaukee serving all of SE Wisconsin.
