Here are some info points about me.                                              * Love to sleep close to my people and lounge on the couch.* Play hard, sleep hard puppy energy. *Right now, toys aren’t my thing, but once I decompress, I’ll be back to my playful self. * Off-leash, I come back—unless there’s another dog to greet first! On leash, I'll bark if they are far away, because I want to meet them. * Recently developed some resource-guarding tendencies (working with a trainer on this).* I can be a bit stubborn—hey, I’m a teen!* Not scared of strangers, but I do best with positive reinforcement (I think I was yelled at before).* Escape artist alert: I’ll need a secure 3-point harness.* Favorite hobby: running joyful circles outside, even when no one is chasing me. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis. ##2313069##

Story
Lory is a beautiful 3-year-old girl who has spent her entire life in the shelter. She arrived as a baby and, through no fault of her own, was simply never chosen. She’s grown up watching other dogs come and go, always wondering when it would be her turn. Despite everything, Lory has held onto her gentle spirit and her quiet hope. She may be shy at first—after all, she’s never known a real home—but she wants so badly to love and be loved. With a little patience and kindness, Lory will reward her person with the deepest kind of devotion. Lory is currently in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, so we can’t offer a meet-and-greet. But once adopted, she’ll fly north, and her new family will just need to pick her up at the airport. It’s a small step to give a truly deserving dog the fresh start she’s been waiting for all her life. If you believe in second chances and the power of love, Lory is waiting for you.

Lula is a 3-year-old girl with the sweetest soul—and a story that tugs at the heart. She came into the shelter as just a tiny pup and, somehow, she’s spent her entire life waiting. While other dogs have come and gone, Lula has watched from her kennel, patiently hoping someone would choose her too. Despite growing up in a shelter, Lula has remained gentle, affectionate, and full of quiet hope. She may be a little shy at first, simply because she’s never known the comforts of a real home—but with a bit of patience and love, she’ll blossom into the loyal, loving companion she was always meant to be. Hello! My name is Ranya, and here is a little info about me:Breed: Border Collie mixedAge: 3 years oldGender: FemaleWeight: 22 kgCountry of origin: LebanonHighlight(s): Gentle, loving, calm, and endlessly affectionate I’m Ranya — a soft-hearted girl with the sweetest eyes and an even sweeter soul. I love cuddles, treats, and being close to people who care about me. I was found in a remote area, all alone but still clean and calm. No one knew where I came from, and I couldn’t tell my story, but it was clear I once had someone who loved me — until suddenly, they didn’t. Even then, I never gave up. I still wagged my tail, approached people with trust, and hoped someone kind would find me. Luckily, my rescuer found me just in time before the cold nights left me hungry and weak. I’m friendly, affectionate, playful, gentle, and social. I adore people, dogs, and kids alike. I’m happiest when I’m surrounded by love — cuddles and treats make my day! I’d love a warm, caring home with people who enjoy affection as much as I do. A family or individual who can include me in their daily life and give me the love and comfort I’ve always longed for would be perfect. Hello!  I'm Vida (Alvida) and you can find some info about me below.   Breed: Border Collie / Shepherd mixAge: 3 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: 44 lbsHeight: 16 inCountry of origin: IsraelHighlights: Playful, cuddly, resiliant, eager to learn I had a tough beginning but never lost my sweet spirit.  My story began near a university, where some students spotted me with a deep wound around my neck. It looked like I’d been tied tightly with a rope for a long time. Thankfully, they reached out to a rescue, and a worker came with a taxi to save me. Since then, I’ve been healing — inside and out — and I’m finally ready to find a home where I’m safe, loved, and free. I'm living in a shelter alongside many animals who are in need of a second chance at life.  I've made some furry pals here; playing with other dogs, and have been introduced to cats, though they're a curious species and I keep my distance.  The volunteers here are so kind to me!  I love it when they bring me treats!  Walk time is very special, and I'm learning leash manners. I'm a gentle girl who loves to please.  Eager to learn, I'll follow your lead -- especially when treats are involved!  Toys are so much fun to play with, especially when I have a human's attention. I hope to find a forever home where I can truly belong. I’d love a person or family who will continue to show me the kindness I’ve just begun to know, and help me keep growing in confidence and happiness. Videos on the way. Story
Hi there. My name is ORIO (Oreo) and here is a bit of info about me:Breed: Border Collie / Spitz mixAge: 5 yrsGender: femaleWeight: 38 lbsHeight: tbd Highlights: calm, cuddler, loyal, clever Left in the freezing cold in Lebanon to fend for themselves at a young age, I was found on the streets roaming around and looking for food in the garbage. Me and my best friend Olivia were constantly harassed by passerbys. We were threatened with being shot, if not removed. Thankfully, a rescuer came through for us. I was pregnant when found and since had 4 adorable puppies. I was transferred to a boarding shelter until a home was found.  I certainly enjoy snuggling, a real cuddle bug they call me.My foster says I am great in the house, calm outside and don't bark a lot. I enjoy the great outdoors. So much so, that it would be best to go to a home with some decent sized property for me to run around."Very sweet & very loving" is how my foster describes me. My foster has worked with me to get me to stop pulling on a leash. Now, I'm a pro walker. I am also great in the house.I have no aggressions at all and will wait to eat til told ok. I get along fine with other dogs. Not sure cats would be a good match nor chickens, as at times I have dug holes to try to escape from the acreage to get to the chickens next door... chicken al fresco. So, best without the temptation around. You will not find any behavioral issues with me (other than chickens), so should be fine with older kids. You'll see I am bright-eyed and happy. Very loyal and clever too. Bet you could teach me tricks.I really need to find a home with my buddy, Olivia (also posted), as we are quite bonded with one another. Energy Level: moderate I get along with:Dogs: yesCats:  noKids: no Prey drive: fairly high. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. Fears: none observed. Training: house and leashLeash skills: yes Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes:I am spayed/neutered, vaccinated & microchipped. The adoption fee for me and my buddy Olivia together is a whopper deal at $800. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1374363##
