Story
Chico was adopted by our family when was 8 weeks old, in April 2019 and at the time my kids were in their early teens and he was good boy growing with them. He loves walks, playing with squeaky toys and fetch with tennis balls. He is a good cuddler. He does great hiking off leashe, camping and going to the beach. After Covid, Chico had become very leery of strangers and could not stand the sounds of a crying baby or small toddlers, and visitors who came to the house. We have invested a few thousand dollars in having Chico trained to be friendly towards strangers. However his fears with babies remain. If he hears babies crying, even on tv, he lashes out with barking and growls at the nearest small animal. We love Chico and never expected to have to rehome him, however we have found ourselves pregnant and starting over and do not want to put him in a stressful environment having to listen to a baby.

someone needed a pet sitter and I volunteered and they never came back for him. I realized that I became allergic because of his fur and I did not realize you should not shave a double coated dog and it’s not fair to him. I would like to find a home that is going to give him the love and care and exercise he needs. He is a big kid who will be miss located in Fresno, California.

He was rescued in rough shape emaciated and tied with a belt and rope but despite his tough start, he’s proven to be incredibly affectionate and eager to bond with people. Gus Gus is smart, playful, and thrives on attention and companionship. He’s looking for an active home where he can be part of the family and have room to run and play. He would do best in a home without cats, as he has a strong prey drive, but he’d likely thrive with other dogs and a family that can give him the structure and love he deserves. This handsome boy loves to cuddle, enjoys exploring, and would make a wonderful adventure buddy. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s ready to give you his whole heart, Gus Gus is your guy!
