Story
Can't decide between a Shepherd or a Cattle dog? Meet Freyja, a Cattle dog in a petite Shepherd suit. The perfect combo of loyal and smart from both breeds. Cattle dog experience is a plus! Freyja came to us as a mama. She was a calm, patient and affectionate mama to her 9 babies. Once her babies weaned we could see her personality shine more. She engaged in play and keep away with them, often stealing their toys to get them to chase her. She is about 50 lbs now that she has filled out after fully weaning her babies. She has put on muscle and is really a beauty. She is an affectionate dog who is very brave and she's always curious about what's going on around her. She can be a bit protective at times but will listen to correction. She will need someone who can continue to guide her into the fabulous dog she is becoming. Most of our rescues have had a hard life and need help and guidance to learn good behavior. We think Freyja is the perfect candidate, she looks up to her person for direction. She can also be a total goofball who loves to make her humans laugh. She loves to play with toys, and she's an expert at giving her paw. When first in her foster home Freya had prey drive interest in cats and wanted to chase. With strict supervision she is learning to be more trustworthy around cats. If you're ready for a new best friend who loves to cuddle after burning off some energy, then Freyja is the pup for you! Freyja is being fostered in Hollister.
