Ryland is a handsome Rough Collie/Australian Shepherd mix estimated to be about 2 years old, and he is one very sweet boy who is still learning that the world can be a safe place.Ryland is very scared, under socialized, and just about everything around him can feel overwhelming right now. He isn’t quite ready to be your typical outgoing, playful dog. When he feels frightened, his first instinct is to get away. Because of this, Ryland is a flight risk and will need an adopter who understands the importance of careful handling and keeping him secure.He has a gentle heart underneath all that fear, and we believe there is a wonderful dog waiting to blossom with the right person by his side. Ryland has made a lot of progress during his time at the shelter and now seeks attention from staff members that he trusts. We have also discovered that he enjoys playing with small dogs and does ok with larger dogs as long as they do not overwhelm him with too much energy.Ryland will need an experienced adopter who has worked with under socialized or fearful dogs and is willing to give him the time, patience, and consistency he needs.He will do best with someone willing to let him go at his own pace, build his confidence, and show him that he is safe, loved, and finally home.

Hecate is a sweet 3-year-old Border Collie. We have had her since she was a year old, and she is a very loving, energetic, and playful girl. While she has an active side, she is also quite quiet at home. We can no longer house her due to financial problems and relocation, and it is urgent that she finds a new home as soon as possible so we do not have to surrender her. We want her to find a good, loving home where she can be loved as much as we love her.Hecate is:• Sweet, loving, and energetic• Quiet and well-behaved indoors• Good with people, children, and other animals• Spayed, housetrained, microchipped, crate trained, and leash trained💰 Rehoming fee: $0

Cattle dog mix, femaleWelcome Oaklie from Visalia Animal Services. Oaklie is a 1 year old, 50lb cattle dog mix.  Another lovely cattle dog who was left pregnant and for dead at the shelter. She was clearly someone’s dog and wants desperately to be that again. Per her foster: Oaklie is super velcro, wants to be with people all the time. She has great leash skills, will sit on command. Gets along with the other dogs. Has been exposed to livestock (goats, sheep, cattle) across a fence and did not react. She is also great in the car/truck, she will load right up if the door is open. She wants desperately to be a house dog and is very calm inside and appears to be housebroken. She rode in the tractor like an old pro while we were out feeding. the consensus is still out there as to her cat compatibility. In one foster home it was a hard no but in another she’s acting like a mama to some kitties. She listens to verbal correction extremely well so with a competent handler and dog savvy cat it is possible. Ideally, we’d land her a cat-free home to ensure no issues but this is what we know about cats and Oaklie so far. Oaklie is microchipped, spayed, and UTD on vaccines. And he's sweet as they come.  Ice Cream is a Cattle Dog mix, about 2 years old and 27 pounds.  Ice Cream was used as a tester dog at the shelter so we know he’s sociable with all kinds of dogs.
