Story
Meet Peach, an 8 year old border collie ready for her next assignment! Peach can be shy at first, and seems to be faster warming up to woman over men, but is very sweet once she knows you. She loves to be by your side and enjoys gentle massages or petting. Peach has VERY strong herding instincts and was likely a working herder in the past. She is very smart and seems to know commands that would be used in herding like `down/place` and running to where you point. We have not tested her out with actual livestock so are not sure how she will actually work them. Peach would do best with no other dogs, as she gets overstimulated or jealous when they are around her people and will redirect her frustration onto them. She likely will not do well with young children in the home due to her herding behavior. If not a new herding job, Peach would likely enjoy some other type of work such as agility. Peach is a sweetheart and ready to find her perfect new home today!

Story
Australian Cattle dog male puppyJett is about 6 months old and adorable! Jet is a Tri-color heeler with a tail. He is also long and leggy! And maybe 32 lbs? He's lean! Very soft shiny coat and in great shape. When I met Jett he was understandably overwhelmed, but he was nothing but sweet with me, and just thrilled to meet again this morning! He stayed in the enclosure with Trinity, the heeler sisters, and two of the long-term dogs his first night, and not a peep! He is a soft dog, quiet. This morning we got him out and free and he stayed right by me until he began socializing with the entire pack, and no even an air snap! He was tolerant and curious! Jett would be good be an only dog, or could be integrate with the established dog/s. He is on schedule for a neuter if he's still here. And we can make arrangements with an adopter. He's had all his shots and microchipped now. Jett is in Templeton, CA More photos and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/www.cchdrescue.org/  search in posts and photo albums. Story
Australian Cattle DogTrinity is a 1 yr old female heeler. Tall and leggy for a tiny heeler! She doesn't even weight 30 lbs. Trinity is good friends with Jett, who she looks very much like... not his mother, maybe a sister from another litter? Trinity walks on leash very well. Like a feather on one finger. If she stops to sniff, or something she's unsure of, I stop. Then 5 seconds, we continue on. If you give a dog a chance to follow you, they release the brakes. Trinity is spayed and ready to go home. We think she would be fine as an only dog, or one or two others. She is so connected with people. She loves being with her people. She would be excellent with kids too. Very sweet and quiet girl.  She is spayed, microchipped and current on vaccines. Trinity is in Templeton, CA More photos and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/www.cchdrescue.org/  search in posts and photo albums. Story
Cattle dog mix, maleAllow me to reintroduce myself, my name is Diesel and I’m looking for a forever home. If you remember, I came to CCHDR back in May with my brother, now believed to be son, Ruger. I’m the goodest boy, but made a couple of bad choices that took me off the “search for a home” circuit, while the team could observe, troubleshoot, and rehabilitate my behavior. I’m a classic, old school blue heeler - stoic, built like a tank, at your service and by your side. I’m calm and quiet and would love nothing more than to have a person to call my own. In fact, I’m a little lost not having that. I am crate trained, housebroken, gentle on leash and Velcro off leash. I am a fantastic pack dog. You’d be hard pressed to find a dog as amicable with other dogs as I am. At approximately 4 years old, I am mature and my soul runs deep. There is something truly special about me that humans, despite having the ability to talk, can’t quite verbalize what it is. Perhaps there isn’t a word for it but you can see it and feel it. Now for some transparency. Shortly after arrival from the shelter, I surprise nipped a few people. Never my foster. It was a grab and go situation and no skin was ever broken but reports were filed. After reviewing the incidences with a fine-tooth comb, the rescue believes that Ruger (my son) seemed to be the common denominator. Whenever he was in the picture and getting attention from strangers is when I’d go in. He’s since been adopted and living his best life so I can live mine too (separately). I know my person is out there. Ideally a breed savvy, adult-only home without a revolving door of visitors. The occasional guest is no problem, I’m perfectly happy in my crate and who knows once I’ve had time to decompress and bond with my people I might want to join the party, but for now the rescue is looking for a responsible adopter that isn’t going to throw caution to the wind immediately. Diesel is in Templeton, CA Diesel is microchipped, neutered, and UTD on vaccines. Cats, critters, and livestock unknown but probably fine just based on demeanor.
