Story
Cattle Dog mix, femaleTiny heeler alert! Gypsy is nothing but sweetness.  Gypsy is around two years old; a cattle dog mix.  She was a little shy at foster, but not anymore!  Gypsy has been hanging out close to her crate, she loves her crate. But I'm encouraging her to hang out on a dog bed with us.  She's housebroken. And sticks close when we're outside. She had a little leash training to do, but she's doing great in a leash now too. Gypsy is very nice with my calm dogs, and noticeably less patient with the curious juveniles. But overall, she's very appropriate with other dogs. She is spayed, chipped, and up to date on shots.  Gypsy is turn key! Gypsy is in Templeton, CA. Story
Cattle dog mix, male puppyWe pulled him on Tuesday and it’s barely even Thursday - he’s already walking in a perfect heel. They don’t come this way. He was frozen as soon as the leash went on. Lucky for Cargo (and his future family) he’s bunked up with a dog trainer. You can guarantee he’s going to come with all the basics. Cargo is clearly a fast learner. The fulfillment he’s getting from using his brain is helping build confidence and connection to the handler. His shy days are looking more in the rear view and what’s left is a beautiful, happy, ready to learn and please, affectionate boy. Cargo is a 5-6 month old, 36lb Heeler mix. He is dog social (in fact we think it’s best if he goes to a home with another dog), cats and small critters unknown at this time. He is crate trained and sleeps through the night. He’s an all around good boy with tons of potential. Apply now and get your best friend tomorrow! Located in Visalia, CA Cargo is microchipped, on a vaccine schedule, and can go home on a neuter contract. Story
Aussie mix puppy, femaleWelcome Merle Streep from the streets of Lindsay, CA! An unhoused couple walked by a vaccine clinic one day and said they didn’t want her. Luckily, the individual working the clinic is a rescuer and knew what to do. Anyone’s best guess on her breed makeup…we think Aussie mix. All her pearly white big girl teeth are through so we estimate she’s about 5 months old and 25 lbs. If we take an educated guess, she’ll be around 45-50lbs full grown. She’s still very much a puppy and won’t be here long. Things we DO know: - people social - sleeps through the night in a crate (no fuss) - toy and food motivated - furthering her canine socialization in a pack environment Things we DON’T know yet (she just got here): - potty training status - compatibility with cats, critters, livestock Merle Streep is up to date on shots, chipped, and can go home on a spay contract. Located in Arroyo Grande, CA More photos and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1642058450089136&type=3 Interested in Merle Streep?  Please complete an application at: http://bit.ly/CCHDR_App  January 15, 2026, 7:04 pm

Story
Cattle Dog mix, adult femaleLike a fine wine, Olivia isn’t meant to be rushed. At first pour, she may seem a little reserved, quietly taking in the room, unsure of unfamiliar hands and new surroundings. But give her time to breathe — space, patience, and gentle consistency — and something beautiful happens. Slowly, her true flavors emerge: a soft gaze that lingers a little longer, a tail that starts to wag just for you, a loyal presence that chooses your side once trust is earned. This is a dog for someone who understands that the best things in life aren’t instant — they’re cultivated. Olivia isn’t flashy or overwhelming. She’s nuanced. Thoughtful. Deeply devoted once opened up. The kind of companion who forms a bond that feels rare because you earned it together. We know Olivia will require a dog friend or two in her new home. She's fantastic in a pack and great in the house.  Loves, loves, loves her off leash time. Although she's wonderful on leash as well. Olivia is a 2 year old, border collie mix located in Templeton, CA. She is microchipped, spayed, and UTD on vaccines.   More photos and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1589146862046962&type=3   Interested in Olivia?  Please complete an application at: http://bit.ly/CCHDR_App  December 29, 2025, 3:08 pm

Story
Bill is a 3-year-old neutered Queensland boy who’s spent most of his life outdoors. True to his breed, he is high-energy and would thrive with a job and the appropriate mental and physical engagement. He does have a history of chasing cattle—and cats—so he’s best suited as a companion dog with a savvy owner or a ranch that can safely provide the appropriate separation between him and the farm animals. Bill has been known to be a bit of an escape artist, so secure fencing is a must. Bill is naturally submissive, gentle at heart, and incredibly sweet once he feels safe. He’s still learning that people are pretty great, and with patience and kindness he’s starting to really enjoy human company. Bill would thrive with a calm, understanding owner who can help him continue building confidence and show him what being a loved dog is all about. He did live previously with other female dogs but would need slow and appropriate introductions to other dogs to determine if they will be a good match.

Story
Australian Shepherd mix, femaleWelcome Molly!  Her beauty is unmatched and her spirit even lovelier. She doesn’t know a stranger and touch is her love language.  Her fosters  have taken some time to get to know her and here is what they have to report: Molly is 100% sweetheart. She loves her people to the Nth degree. Scratch that, she loves ALL people to the Nth degree. Arguably maybe too much sometimes. If you get down on the ground, you will have a dog right up in your face, and if you're not careful you're tripping on her. She's moderately treat motivated, but 100% affection motivated when it comes to training. She responds really well to gentle correction. Her paperwork says she's 1 Y, 40lbs but she acts like a big puppy. She's a little ornery, and very bouncy and goofy. She must have at least 10 lbs of 1980's crimped fur in that curled up tail alone. She’s working on leash and house manners and picking things up quickly. She’s bunked up with a few cats and the verdict is still out there as to whether or not we can say she’s bombproof with them. Doesn’t chase the indoor cat but outdoors it’s game on and by that we think she’s just trying to play. She curious and cautious around livestock and managed to be quite helpful to her foster dad in rounding up a stray cow. Molly is located in Templeton, CA. She is microchipped, spayed, and UTD on vaccines. She appears to be an Australian shepherd mix.
