Story
Meet Blackie One look into Blackie’s eyes, and you can feel it… that quiet, gentle soul just waiting to be loved. Blackie is one of eight dogs we recently took in from a hoarding case. Her world was small, unfamiliar, and overwhelming—and her recovery has been slow, but meaningful. She has come as far as she can with us, and now she needs something more… a home. A very special home. Blackie is not a “typical” adoption. She is a heart project. She will need a person who understands that what she needs right now is socialization, not training. Someone who knows how to let a dog set the pace. Someone who understands that trust is earned, not forced. The good news? Once you gain that trust—and we truly believe you will—she is going to blossom. What Blackie Needs: A calm, patient home willing to go at her pace An experienced adopter familiar with shy or undersocialized dogs Slow, thoughtful introductions to any resident dogs (she may do well with the right match) No cats or young children (fast movements are still very scary for her) Blackie cannot be cornered, rushed, or pushed. She needs someone with patience, compassion, and the willingness to meet her where she is—every single day. In return, you’ll get something incredibly special: the chance to watch a dog discover love, safety, and life for the very first time. We will be here every step of the way to guide you, and: A site visit will be required Follow-ups will be part of her journey to ensure success If you feel called to be the person who changes Blackie’s life… please reach out. Apply to adopt: www.denkaisanctuary.org/adopt Because dogs like Blackie don’t just need homes…They need humans who understand them. ##2612039##

FROM DUMPED… TO THRIVING — NOW HE NEEDS YOU   This little guy should not be here… but somehow, he made it.   Dumped at Hovenweep National Monument, sick, vulnerable, and alone — he was fighting just to survive.   Today? His tummy is stable No more vomiting Tail wagging, playful, FULL of life   He is thriving… and now it’s time for his next chapter.   He needs a foster or adopter   This sweet boy is: Playful & happy Loves everyone he meets Great potential with kids, cats, and other dogs Mixed breed (estimated ~50 lbs full grown)   He is the kind of dog who will bond deeply… the kind who will follow you everywhere… the kind who will remind you every single day what love looks like.   All he needs now… is someone to choose him.   Foster or adopt: www.denkaisanctuary.org/adopt info@denkaisanctuary.org   If you can’t take him in, please SHARE — his person might be one share away. ##2699149##

Story
Surrender Request – Topo Needs a New Home We’ve received a surrender request for Topo, a 5-year-old, 60-lb mixed breed (mostly cattle dog) who was originally adopted from Denkai. His family loves him dearly but has realized he would do best in a home without young children, as they can make him anxious. They’ve made the thoughtful decision to rehome him so he can thrive in a more suitable environment. About Topo:• Male, neutered• Housebroken & leash trained• Rides well in the car• Affectionate, friendly, and very bonded to his people• Healthy, up to date on vet care• Currently on anti-anxiety medication and has worked with a trainer Dog & Cat Socialization:Topo gets along well with many dogs—he especially enjoys playing with submissive or easygoing companions. He can be reactive with reactive dogs, so matching will be important. No known cat interactions noted. ‍‍ Best Home:Topo would do best in a calm home with adults or older kids/teens, and no young children. Current Status:His current family is able to foster him until an appropriate home is found, so he is safe and cared for while we search. If you’re interested in adopting or fostering Topo, please submit an application through Denkai: https://denkaisanctuary.org/adopt ##874073##
