Story
Opal is a sweet and playful puppy with a gentle spirit and a big love for fun. She brings joy into every room she enters and she bonds quickly with the people around her. This little explorer adores her squeaky toys and she will happily entertain herself with them. She also loves to dig, especially when she has a spot where she is allowed to do it. She is a great match for someone who appreciates a curious and outdoorsy pup. She is still learning her leash manners, but is eager to please! Opal enjoys spending time outside, sniffing around and discovering new things. She is friendly, eager to meet new people and always ready for affection. Indoors, she settles nicely and has a calm and sweet demeanor when she is not in play mode. If you are looking for a loving and funhearted puppy with a playful streak and a big heart, Opal might be the perfect addition to your family. ##2642355##

Onyx is a sweet, affectionate puppy with a big heart and an even bigger enthusiasm for life. She loves meeting new people and greets everyone like a new friend. Belly rubs are her absolute favorite, and she’ll happily flop over for them any chance she gets. This playful girl enjoys spending time outside, exploring the world, and going for walks. She’s still learning her leash manners, but she’s eager to please and picks things up quickly with gentle guidance. Indoors, she settles nicely in her crate and has been doing well with pee pads. Onyx is the perfect mix of cuddly and energetic, a friendly, curious pup who’s ready to bond with her people and thrive in a loving home. She’ll make a wonderful companion for someone who can give her a bit of structure, playtime, and lots of affection. If you’re looking for a sweet, social puppy to grow with, Onyx might be your girl ##2642361##

Story
Bootie is a 3MO, 10lb floofy little pup.  We are guessing she will be about 20-25lbs when full grown.  Bootie and her siblings are all different and unique, which makes it hard for us to even guess what breeds they truly are.  Honestly we have zero idea what their breeds are, but we know they are absolutely adorable, unique, and so, so sweet.   Bootie and her siblings were found as strays in a rural part of Texas.  They were absolutely terrified at first.  A wonderful rescue lady in the area brought all the pups back to her house and kept them safe until we could get them into our rescue program.  They have really started to come out of their shells and learn all that life has to give - when you aren't busy fighting for your life in the middle of nowhere.   Bootie and her siblings are typical puppies.  They love to play with each other, romp around with the fosters other dogs, and follow the foster around, cuirously watching them.  They love to snuggle and hang out.  Their forever families will need to be patient with them as they continue to learn all that life has to offer and that humans are kind and safe.  While they have little legs, they would still love to have a sibling to play with or someone who can take them on daily walks/adventures and get them continual mental stimulation and socialization. If you are interested in adopting Bootie or one of her siblings, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2647821##

Story
Meet Puka Puka 🐾Puka Puka is a beautiful blonde girl with soft, floppy ears, a sharp mind, and a deeply loyal heart. She is very people-focused and forms strong bonds with her person. Out of all the puppies, she is the one who chooses closeness—curling up on the couch for naps and cuddles rather than settling on a dog bed.She is crate trained at night, confidently uses a doggie door, and thrives with routine and structure. Puka Puka loves to chew and will need appropriate outlets such as bones and durable toys to keep her happy and engaged. She is intelligent, observant, and enjoys having clear expectations.Puka Puka is selective with dogs. While she plays with her siblings, she has shown some early resource guarding behaviors around food and high-value treats and may growl if other dogs approach during these times. She can also become jealous when sharing attention, especially in close spaces like the couch. She has not been aggressive, but she communicates her boundaries clearly. Because of this, she would be happiest as an only dog in an adult household where she can receive focused, one-on-one attention. With the right match—an experienced, dog-savvy adopter who values companionship, consistency, and structure—Puka Puka has the potential to be an incredibly devoted, affectionate, and loyal best friend.

A COMPLETED APPLICATION IS REQUIRED BEFORE ANY CONVERSATION ABOUT ADOPTING FROM OUR ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE GO TO OUR WEBSITE AT www.colliesheltierescue.org AND READ ABOUT THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS (GOOD PHONE INTERVIEW, SECRELY FENCED YARD, FABULOUS REFERENCE FROM YOUR VETERINARIAN AND A HOME VIST.)  I KNOW THAT IS A LOT BUT WE SCREEN VERY CAREFULLY FOR THE SAKE OF THE DOGS.  THEY DESEERVE IT! Mac is the father of the two-year-old male pups on the website with lovely Scarlett being the mama.  He is a glorious large sable and white rough coated Collie with a lot of personal charm.  Mac happily goes up to all men, women and children to introduce himself.  He adores other dogs and has no issue with cats.  He was very much loved by his owner who died unexpectedly about a week ago.  The only thing Mac knows for sure right now is change.  Left outside after his owner died.  A long car trip from a small town in Kansas to a foster home in Wichita.  Another long car trip from Wichita to Pueblo West, CO.  A bit of poking and prodding including drawing of blood at a vet clinic.  Being a part of a blended dog family.  If you think of this from the perspective of a pooch used to a routine life, all of a sudden having nothing to cling to.  It is heartbreaking. Mac is a 5-year-old neutered male that has been brought UTD on vaccines and has great bloodwork, is heartworm negative and microchipped.  He has recently started on a more appropriate diet for an adult Collie.  He eats well and sleeps well and enjoys time outside, especially when there is snow on the ground.  We have not found anything that Mac does not enjoy! Mac would not mind being an only dog or as a part of a larger dog family.  When it comes to what forever family he would like to hook up with for a lifetime, we will have to see what the universe has in store for him.   Preference will be given to those with prior Collie experience.    And we always love to hear from our previous adopters!     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 24, 2026, 9:22 pm

Finnegan is a two-year-old neutered male rough coated Collie.  He is a tri-headed white with one ear and up and the other ear down.  Just made for kissing.  Finnegan came to us with 3 other Collies from a sad situation where his 80-year-old owner died suddenly.  They were all much loved.  But they did not get as much individual attention as young Collies deserve.  Finnegan will be playing catch-up to learn important skills such as reliable house breaking and basic obedience.  But he is learning quickly and will look to his new owners to bring him along. We have had to begin at the beginning for vaccines but he is now UTD with DA2PPL and Rabies.  He will have a lepto booster in 3 weeks.  Finnegan will be neutered on Tuesday with IV fluids and all the bells and whistles.  He has been microchipped with a Home Again chip and will have a lifetime database listing included with his adoption.   Finn is a lover.  No one has to teach him about affection.  That is a part of his Collie make-up as surely as his love for children.  Toddlers may be too small for a rowdy adolescent dog.  But a 10-year-old child and a Collie are wonderful together.  Most of what you saw on the Lassie TV show was so true.  But if Timmy falls in the well.....we just don't know.  LOL Previous Collie experience will put you first in line with us.  Collies are so incredible sensitive emotionally and physically that to know them is to love them.  Who will love Finnegan best?    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 24, 2026, 8:38 pm
