Story
Lhandi is a go with the flow type of dog. She loves hanging out with her foster’s two dogs, but can easily enjoy time alone playing with her toys or sunbathing on the back porch. Her favorite toy is a stuffed bunny and she does enjoy a good chew on the bone that might be lying beside her. She truly enjoys getting affection from anyone who walks in the room. She’s definitely a people dog. She knows basic commands and thinks a car ride is entertainment. Lhandi has great manners and can be left alone, there are no house restrictions with this dog. She is potty trained and sleeps in her foster parent’s bedroom with no concern. There is a cat in the house. Lhandi is very curious about her, but the cat is not a big fan of dogs and lets it be known. She would be okay with a cat, but she might intimidate them at first with her excitement and curiosity. This girl is so much fun to watch playing in a lake or stream chewing at the water and splashing around. She will make a fantastic hiking partner or a best friend to take to the local brewery. She is in foster, apply on our website and someone will be in touch!

A COMPLETED APPLICATION IS REQUIRED BEFORE ANY CONVERSATION ABOUT ADOPTING FROM OUR ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE GO TO www.collieshelteirescue.org AND READ ABOUT OUR BASIC REQUIREMENTS (GOOD PHONE INTERVIEW, SECURELY FENCED YARD, FABULOUS REFERENCE FROM YOUR VETERINARIAN AND A HOME VISIT.  I KNOW THIS SOUNDS LIKE A LOT BUT WE SCREEN CAREFULLY FOR THE SAKE OF THE DOGS.  THEY DESERVE IT! Monaco is the name of this neutered male rough coated Collie.  He is UTD on all vaccines, microchipped and learning manners very quickly.  He came all the way from Italy to a backyard breeder in northern Colorado where he was left outside like a garden statue.  So upon coming into rescue, Monaco has had to learn all the basics.  And he has done very well.  Gentle hands offering nibbles.  Grooming.  Baths.  Walks on a leash. Monaco came into RMCSR with his mate, a small blue merle rough coated Collie named Laina.  He was pretty intense in their relationship until he was neutered and she was spayed.  But now they interact like friends and he is fine with other dog to dog interactions.  He weighed only 36# on Day 1.  And he has only put on 2# in the first month.  But now that the giardia and roundworms are cleared, and he is eating voraciously, he will start coming up to a more reasonable weight.  His ungroomed double coat hid the fact that he was skin and bone.   With a lot of kindness and time, Monaco will grow into the Collie he was meant to be.  And the family that is lucky enough to live with him for a lifetime will be glad he came their way.  Previous or current Collie folks will have preference on adoption. I can't wait to see how joyous he will be!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 17, 2026, 12:35 pm

A COMPLETED APPLICATION IS REQUIRED BEFORE ANY CONVERSATION ABOUT ADOPTING FROM OUR ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE GO TO OUR WEBSITE AT www.colliesheltierescue.org  AND READ ABOUT THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS (GOOD PHONE INTERVIEW, SECURELY FENCED YARD, FABULOUS REFERENCE FROM YOUR VETERINARIAN AND A HOME VISIT.)  I KNOW THAT SOUNDS LIKE A LOT BUT WE SCREEN VERY CAREFULLY FOR THE SAKE OF THE DOGS.  THEY DESERVE IT! Lassie, step aside!  Wynn is a 3-year-old neutered male rough Collie that is as close to the breed standard as any dog that has ever come through Rocky Mountain Collie and Sheltie Rescue.  Not only handsome but charming and lots of fun to be with.  He is the quintessential Collie that could do just about anything with his life.  Dog sports can be loads of fun with the right human and pooch as a team.  He would shine as a 4H partner with a 10 or 12 year old kiddo.  If an adult with lots of time and patience wanted to train Wynn as an agility partner, they would both have a ball.  Whatever direction Wynn's life will go, it must be spectacular.  Because Wynn is spectacular! Wynn has all of his vaccines on board and is heartworm negative.  He is microchipped and freshly groomed.  He is in "move-in condition".  But I do need to warn you that his foster mom will insist on the VERY best home possible and she will be reviewing applications that are submitted for him.  He enjoys the company of other dogs and would love to have a Collie brother or sister.  But it is the human element that will make Wynn's life wonderful.  He craves closeness whether it is cuddling on the sofa or having that special someone on the other end of the leash, going out to coffee with friends or having a child read to him in a library program.  The possibilities are endless.  But we will NOT choose anyone with just a backyard kind of life to offer him. RMCSR will begin to accept applications for Wynn to become a member of your family.  Priority will be given to current Collie afficionados, especially those who have adopted from us before.  Young dogs deserve younger families that will be stable for him for many years to come.  I can't wait to see who Wynn chooses to be his family!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 17, 2026, 12:35 pm
