Story
My name is Bessie and my foster mom says I am the sweetest girl ever! I am bashful and shy at first but willing to become friends. I have two big dogs in my foster home and I love being their shadow and hanging out with them everywhere they go. I would really like my forever home to have another dog in it to play with me and help me build my confidence. I am submissive and would likely follow the lead of any confident dog. I love to be outside and wander the backyard- bonus if you have a squeaky ball I can fetch. I’ve just started doing zoomies and boy are those fun! I am still pretty scared of being on a leash, so a fenced yard is required in my new home to keep me safe. I am housetrained and kennel trained. I sleep all night without a peep. I love my kennel, it’s my safe space. I am a little nervous in the car but sit very nicely and calm. I like the older kids in my foster home, it’s fun when they play ball with me or give me treats. And they brush me which I really like. I think little kids would scare me as they are a bit more unpredictable and noisy. I am doing very well adjusting to all the new things in my foster home. My foster mom says I am such a good girl and very smart. I would love to find a forever home that will be patient and help me continue to come out of my shell, could that be you? Story
Kismet is a 2-year-old neutered male, black/white mixed breed, he’s been called a border collie mix and a lab mix but he is 100% gorgeous. He weighs around 45 pounds and is UTD on all vaccines, heartworm negative, and on preventative for heartworm and flea/tick. Kismet was hours from being euthanized due to high anxiety and being nervous and stressed. We were able to pull him and get him into our care and although he was very shy, and confused, he came out of his shell very quickly. His demeanor is more that he needs to get to know you a little first but once he deems you “ok” his personality shines. He very much loves to play with toys, and he thrives on being right next to his person. If ever there was a loyal dog, Kismet is exactly that. His intelligence is off the charts, and we believe the training ability for just the basics will be an easy chore as he is food motivated, except milk bones, he isn’t interested in those. He does know “sit” and so was trained at some point, but we think he would be a perfect companion. He is a sweet boy and gets along well with all his foster dogs that he is with. He is far too interested in cats so we feel he would be best in a home without cats as it is hard to determine if he wants to play or has more on his mind, siding with caution. He is great in a kennel but overall does great outside the kennel. He is housebroken to the degree that he has a routine now that works so it would just be setting a new routine, and he will get that pretty quickly. This handsome boy with soulful eyes is available now for adoption so if you are interested in adopting him, please fill out an adoption application. His adoption fee is $375 to cover some of his vetting costs.
