Story
Zelda  Blue Heeler mix Spayed female 2 years old, 35 pounds   Princess Zelda is searching for a kingdom that feels like home -- one where her playful, carefree spirit can shine as brilliantly as her sleek, black coat.   We trust the right person will find her at just the right time. And when that moment comes, her magic will be fully unleashed to flourish.   Her current living arrangement includes a canine sister, who has been pleading her case to be an only dog. So, the owners made the difficult yet logical decision to separate the dogs while seeking to rehome Zelda.   Zelda’s temperament reinforces that “dream dog” sentiment: she’s naturally friendly, and we’ve seen her get along with dogs of all sizes, cats and children.   She’s also kennel trained (4-5 hours max), leash trained, house trained and understands several commands.  Zelda enjoys burning off that young adult energy with her human or a four-legged playmate in the backyard, so we're hoping to find her a home with a  secure, six-foot fence.   She’s microchipped, healthy, current on vaccines, simple to groom and even easier to love. If  Zelda's personality has enchanted you, please complete and submit our online adoption application.   Adoption form available a: nebraskanokill.org Suggested adoption donation: $300.00   April 17, 2025, 12:40 pm

Story
Jack Blue Heeler mix Neutered Male 5 years old, 50 pounds Sometimes, when we transfer dogs from crowded shelters, we roll the dice, but Jack has been a dream to foster. Jack’s foster mom tells us that he is very sweet, loving and friendly. He loves to ride in the car and Jack puts the joy in walking when they go twice per day. Recently his fosters brought in a Yorkshire terrier and they had so much fun together… no problems whatsoever adapting to one another. Also, they decided to try taking Jack to the dog park and reported that he enjoyed running with the other dogs there. Jack is roughly five years old and 50 pounds. He’s neutered, current on his vaccines and microchipped. The shelter listed him as a blue heeler mix, so his breed would be happiest in a home with activity. He is house trained, leash trained and crate trained. Jack also knows sit, shake and come, as just a few of his commands. So, it’s safe to say, Jack is ready if you are! Since he’s been such a love and we fell short on our goal to have him posted before Valentine’s Day, we’re offering a $50 discount on his adoption fee (normally $300.00)  for any applications received before the end of February. Please apply online at www.NebraskaNoKill.org.  February 22, 2025, 9:27 am

Story
Dottie is a strikingly beautiful and spirited young pup looking for her forever home! At just 10 months old, she's bursting with energy and enthusiasm. Her playful personality and sweet nature make her a joy to be around, especially for people-she absolutely adores human attention and companionship.Like many young pups, Dottie is still learning the ropes when it comes to manners and training. She'll thrive in a home ready to provide her with patient guidance, consistent structure, and plenty of opportunities for both mental and physical exercise.Dottie can be selective with other dogs and would benefit from continued socialization. She's not quite sure how she feels about cats yet, so a feline-free home might be the best fit.If you're an active person or family looking for a loyal, lively companion with a lot of love (and a little bit of sass!), Dottie might just be your perfect match. With a little training and a lot of heart, she's ready to be your best adventure buddy! Primary Color: Blue Merle Weight: 35.2 Age: 0yrs 10mths 3wks

Story
Ms. Ethel came into our lives when she was five months old and she turned 1 year old on October 13, 2024. We believe she is a red heeler and lab mix. She is crate-trained and LOVES to snuggle close to you. She loves being outside but will also stay close to you and watch a movie. She does well with other dogs if they are introduced to her gently. She loves to look out the window to spy on the neighbors. Unfortunately, we just do not have the space to keep her and have her run around to her heart's content, especially since we have a baby on the way. This girlie makes for a good companion.

Story
Zoey is a 4-month-old pup with a heart as soft as her floppy ears. We think she will stay on the small side of medium sized once she is full grown. Zoey might be a little shy when meeting new people, but give her a little time (and maybe a tasty treat), and she’ll melt right into your lap. Once she warms up, her affectionate and gentle nature shines bright! She’s as social as can be when it comes to other dogs. Big or small, she’s ready to romp, wrestle, or just hang out. Zoey is both house trained and kennel trained, and she’s a quiet little lady when crated, perfect for anyone who appreciates peace and cuddles in equal measure. She’s fully vaccinated (Rabies, DAPP, and Bordetella), microchipped, spayed, healthy, and ready for her next big adventure. If you're looking for a sweet, loyal companion who just needs a little time to show her sparkle, Zoey might be your perfect match!
