Application Link: https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/ARH-A-286 Adoption fee is $360 All dogs are fixed, up-to-date on age appropriate shots and micro-chipped Fritz is a definitely a boarder collie. He loves to run and play. He is good in a crate, does bark a bit, good with other dogs as long as they can tolerate a bit of mischief, and is supper sweet and soft. He can open lever doorknobs so you have to lock them if you don't want him to get out or put him in a crate. He is slightly food motivated so it helps with training but he loves to eat laying down like he is in a Greek bathhouse. He is a real fun dog and has a great personality. Such a fun boy to be around.

Story
This is BUD! Bud is a 4 year old male Border Collie/Aussie/Great Pyrenees mix who is desperate to find a place to hang his leash for the rest of his life! He is around 50 pounds and full grown - so perfect size. Bud is a gentleman who bonds strongly with folks once he makes friends with them. Hailing from down South, Bud found himself surrendered to the county shelter with his chihuahua brother when his owner suddenly passed away. His brother was taken into rescue and Bud suddenly had lost his home, his dad, and then his brother. It was a lot. Without any interest down south, we offered to take Bud up to Ohio and give him a shot to find his new chapter of happiness here. Now we are reaching out to everyone searching for that perfect place. Bud has lived with another dog and has been dog friendly with most all that he has met. He did spend his first 4 years in a home, so he is presumably house trained or close to it. We do not know if he has any experience with cats, but he did live with a tiny chihuahua which might be as close as you can get? We also assume this handsome dude has house manners as well - or at least to some extent. We aren`t sure how he would be with kids, but since he didn`t live with them previously, we will look to place him with older kids only - 10 and up as we doubt he is used to the sort of busy fun times that come with the younger set. After his foray into the shelter life, this boy deserves a bit of quiet. That being said, he doesn`t necessarily need a quiet inactive home - quite the contrary - he is young, athletic, and has the makings of an excelling hiking or adventure partner. He looks the part as well!Bud doesn`t like the shelter much. He is a happier boy whenever he is out of his kennel - the difference between Bud in and Bud out is enormous. It is definitely not his happy place. The thing is, get this gorgeous boy out and on a leash and on a walk? He acts as though he is the happiest boy on earth. He NEEDS someone to give him back a version of the life that he lost - a different chapter, for certain, but a house, a home, a family. That is what he desperately needs. Bud will soon be ready for his new start. We are currently accepting applications on him. If you are interested in seeing if you are a match for Bud, please apply
