Story
🌟 Meet Noir — A True Diamond Noir’s life could have changed in an instant. She was rescued just moments before she wandered onto a high-speed highway—frightened, trembling, and unsure of the world around her. After she was brought to safety, we searched and waited, hoping someone would come for her—hoping she had been missed. But no one ever did. Still, Noir was never invisible to us. From the beginning, she showed us who she truly is: gentle, kind, loving, and absolutely beautiful. Noir is not a diamond in the rough—she is a true diamond. She does not need to become wonderful; she already is. She does not need to transform into something special; she is already special, just as she is. What Noir needs now is a family who sees her clearly and loves her fully. At between 1 and 2 years old and about 45 pounds, she has a soft heart, a sweet spirit, and an amazing ability to connect with the people and animals around her. She loves people, is good with children, enjoys the company of other dogs, and is respectful with the cats in her foster home. There is something quietly radiant about Noir. She does not ask for much—just kindness, comfort, and someone who understands that a tender soul deserves to be treasured. 💛 The Home Noir Dreams Of Noir would thrive in a home that is gentle, loving, and steady—a place where she can feel secure, be cherished, and continue to enjoy the simple joys of family life. She is healthy, vaccinated, and spayed, and she is ready for someone to recognize the wonderful dog she already is. She does not need someone to fix her. She needs someone to recognize the wonderful dog already standing in front of them: a sweet, sensitive, loving girl with so much beauty to share. If you have been waiting for a dog with a gentle heart, a kind nature, and a soul that shines, Noir may be the one. Story
Hi there, I’m Donny!I am a sweet boy who gets excited when seeing new people. I can be a bit nervous if people come on too strong but love when they are calm and gentle! I arrived as a stray found roaming in the country. My past is unknown but my GHS humans wonder if I`ve ever lived in a home before. I love to spend ALL day in the outdoor portion of my kennel and would probably stay there all night too, if they`d let me - they don`t, despite my numerous requests, in case you`re wondering. While I was nervous about walking on leash and going through doorways, in just a few quick weeks, I`m now excelling at both! I`m treat motivated and love to bring my toys with me when I lounge outside. I am looking for a home with patient humans that will continue to help me grow my confidence!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Teenagers should be okay, but no young children given my sensitive nature.OTHER DOGS: Yes, please! A well-socialized, playful dog would be great!CATS: Potentially, with cat confident & experienced with large dogs.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I’m sensitive and would do best with someone who has dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Yes, so I have a safe place to lounge outside, which is one of my favorite things to do! Rural without a fence may also be an option.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: Any home with a private yard or rural.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes.If you think I would make a good match for your home, please click the `Adopt Me` button to apply!FOSTER ME! I’m excited to be selected as part of the Paisley Project and I’m looking for a foster home! If your home environment matches what I’m looking for based on the information above, please consider applying to foster me by copying and pasting the following link to fill out the questionnaire: https://guelphhumane.ca/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=frm_forms_preview&form=7y88o.The Paisley Project aims to match selected, long-stay animals at GHS with fosters that can provide a home that gradually introduces them to the everyday experiences of life as a pet. Story
Hi there, I’m Firefly!I`m a fun boy with a charming personality! I`m great at fetch and will stay in a down position, waiting patiently, until you throw the ball for me to expertly chase and return back to you. I`m so smart and agile - when I see a `wet floor` sign in the hallway, I naturally jump over it without even being asked! I don`t love formal handling, like vet exams, however I`ve made a ton of great progress as my GHS friends have shown me that handling is not so bad! I can be vocal and bark at things but I just tell the humans that I`m doing my heeler job! When I make human friends, I do like to jump up and lick your face!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Teenagers should be ok, but I wouldn’t be best around young kids.OTHER DOGS: No, I can get stressed and bark at other dogs. I have shown promise with gradual intros and may be able to make friends with a very easy-going dog with time.CATS: No, given my prey drive.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, someone with herding breed experience or knowledge would be most ideal.FENCED-IN YARD: Required, to help meet energy needs. Rural would also be excellent!HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: Any with a fully-fenced yard.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes.If you are interested in adopting me, please click the `Adopt Me` button to apply!FOSTER ME!
