Story
Imagine coming home to Maya.
A happy 3-year-old girl with the softest heart, waiting to greet you like you are the best part of her day — because to her, you are. Maya is the kind of dog who wants to be where her people are. She would love to curl up nearby while you relax at home, walk beside you through the neighbourhood, join you on hikes and outdoor adventures, and be part of the small everyday moments that make a house feel like home.
Maya is spayed, weighs 21 kg, and is fully vaccinated, health-checked, and tested. She is affectionate, trusting, and incredibly friendly with people. She greets friends and strangers with the same open heart, and she is also wonderful with children. She does not ask for much — just kindness, companionship, and a family who will finally choose her.
She enjoys the company of friendly, playful dogs and could happily share her home with a compatible canine companion of similar size and temperament. Maya is intelligent, eager to please, and loves learning. She already knows basic commands, walks nicely on leash, and settles calmly in a crate when needed.
But Maya needs one very important thing: a home without cats.
Maya loves to be stretching out in the sunshine, following her people from room to room, resting beside someone who loves her, and being included in family life. Yet Maya keeps being overlooked. Too often, black dogs are passed by simply because of their colour, and that is deeply unfair. A dog’s coat does not tell you who they are. It does not show their loyalty, their gentleness, their joy, their resilience, or the love they are ready to give. Maya should not have to wait longer because she is black. She deserves to be seen for the wonderful dog she is.
If you picture Maya in your home, you can imagine a devoted companion who will greet your days with love, walk beside you with trust, and remind you again and again how grateful a rescued dog can be. What Maya needs now is a loving, cat-free home where she can finally be free, included, safe, and cherished.
