Story
Hi there! I'm Obsidian! I arrived at NAS as a stray back in February 2023. I was in a foster home for 6 months but unfortunately had to return to the shelter due to clashing personalities with another dog in the home. I am a highly energetic and playful little lady who would do well in a family that leads an active lifestyle. I require a child free home due to fear-based aggression and herding behaviors. I am looking for a family that can evaluate other dogs due to make sure it is a positive experience due to being dog selective. Staff here think I'd make a great sports/agility dog due to the amount of exercise I require in a day as well as being incredibly smart. I love to keep my brain working so continued training would help with my fear-based aggression and territorial behavior. I am a little nervous around strangers and have been working on this with a behaviorist and my foster family prior to coming back to the shelter. In a home I will need a safe space for when guest visit the home and a space for meeting new people. Once I warm up to you, I am a complete snuggle bug. I love sitting in people's laps and getting all the pets. My favorite thing in this entire world is my tennis ball and always need to have one with me. I could play fetch for hours if you'll let me. I will require a full week of decompression time once in a new home so that we can really bond. Since new people take longer for me to become comfortable with I should be taken to a fear free certified clinic to keep things low stress and I may require some pre-appointment sedation. To keep me healthy and comfortable I am on a long-term behavior medication (Fluoxetine). Please fill out an application to meet mePlease note:- Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed.-Applications can be downloaded from our website. Story
Are you looking for a sweet and fun loving dog? Then Ella is your girl! Ella is super friendly, happy, and always up for playing outside or snuggling. When Ella first entered our care, she had a bad case of "happy tail." Happy tail is when a dog wags their tail so often and vigorously, it injures the tail. But no worries, she's all healed up now and verified as a happy tail kind of dog. Ella is also a very smart girl and already knowing some basic tricks. Ella absolutely loves to play ball and gets the zoomies with excitement for play time in the yard. Ella seems to love all people and enjoys being around others. She previously lived with children and would love a family of her own again. Ella loves playing with other dogs and making friends. Her favorite thing is to play chase with other dogs. Please fill out an application to meet our sweet and happy Ella! She can't wait to meet you. Story
Mishka was found out on her own and no one came to claim her. She is still very young so she moved into a foster home to help her learn about living in a home. She plays well with the dog in the home and loves her toys. She is inquisitive and surely will be a smart dog. She has lots of potential to grow into a beautiful dog. She has the cutest little tail just like a tiny bear cub. She has lots of puppy energy and is very affectionate once she meet you. Here's what her foster mom has to say about her: "She likes being close to her human. She is gentle and cuddly when she's tired. She receives praise and redirection so well for such a young dog. She is inquisitive and highly intelligent. She comes when called. She responds to "no." She knows "sit" & we've begun "down." She launches herself into fetch games. She loves playing with other dogs. She enjoys all toys, crinkle, squeaks, and plush. She'll quietly chew on a bone for several minutes. She does well on a leash and seems to enjoy walking. She has a voracious appetite."Please note:- Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed.-Applications can be downloaded from our website.
