You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application   HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see   HERE Age: 5-6 years old (As of 11/11/25) Weight:  65 lbs. (As of 11/11/25) Location: RI This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Meet Kross! Kross is an affectionate, intelligent, and gentle adult who is eager to please. The transition North has been tough on him and he is slowly settling in. He is looking for a calm household to help him decompress. He’s a good boy—goofy, quiet, resilient, and independent. With his calm disposition, he picks up cues easily.  Kross prefers a predictable routine and once he has that he is a lovely house guest.   He is left alone in the crate for several hours.  He enjoys quiet walks and play time with toys.  Kross is not currently living with children, but with visiting kids he has been tolerant, unengaged, playful, and responsive to corrections. He would likely do best with older children (7+) rather than small toddlers. If you have a cat or small animal, Kross is tolerant and respectful—he simply ignores them and doesn’t mind their presence. He’s fully potty trained and will let you know when he needs to go out and when he’s ready to come back inside.   Like any rescue dog, Kross will need a little time to adjust in his forever home—but once he settles in, he’ll quickly learn the routine and show you what a wonderful companion he truly is. Kross's Story: His previous owners separated and the new landlords did not allow dogs.  An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see   HERE   for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:   Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org)   **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 24, 2025, 10:02 am

Story
This cutie is Tiffany Park Avenue. She is currently 9 weeks old and weighs approximately 10 pounds. We think they may be a Coonhound mix, but with rescue it’s a guess! What matters most is that they are adorable and are one the MOST desperate in the entire US based on statistics for where this puppy is from. Shelters in this area are having to euthanize puppies. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from us, it saves their life as well as the life of another in its place. Watch Tiffany's playful personality here: https://youtu.be/oLREEt49_h8?si=ph0SVN5ruVQOJzyF Tiffany is playful, sweet, curious, and cuddly. She loves to play with her siblings and take lots of naps. Eat, sleep, play, repeat- such is puppy life! We pride ourselves in being able to give you good personality and behavioral information to help ensure this baby is the right fit for you. You are also welcome to do a Facetime call to meet your new baby before signing paperwork! Tiffany is still very young and will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. A puppy is discovering new things that shape their personalities with each passing day. Implementing routine, structure, setting boundaries, and proper socialization is key from the start. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy starting immediately when arriving at their new home, which will help with potty training, energy management, and the overall development of a well-rounded adult dog. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. Story
Meet Macie – The Sweetest Hound! Macie is an absolute sweetheart with a heart full of love! She was found as a stray by her loving foster mom. She’s the ultimate cuddler and prefers to be right beside you. This loving girl adores everyone she meets, including small children, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She hasn’t been tested with cats yet. Like a true hound, she has an incredible nose and a signature howl. She’s very curious about the outside world, so a secure yard or leash walks will be best for her. Macie is a dream in the car and is working on her leash manners. Her favorite things include belly rubs, snuggles, and spreading love to everyone she meets. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a true hound spirit, Macie is your girl!
