For the well-being of our dogs, our kennels are closed to the public for general viewing. If you are interested in one of our dogs, please call 1-800-452-0114 for more information or stop by our shelters 12:00pm- 4:30pm, 7 days a week and speak to one of our adoption counselors.<br/><br/>~ I can live in a single family home or condo.<br/>~ I want to live with dog-savvy kids over 12 who are familiar with rambunctious dogs.<br/>~ I need a cat and small animal free home.*<br/>~ I may be willing to share my home with a dog, pending a successful interaction.<br/>~ I am a high energy kind of dog and am looking for a home where I can get lots of exercise every day.<br/>~ My behavior is very typical for my breed. I would prefer to live with someone who has experience with large hounds.

Story
Dexter "Dex" is a very calm, sweet and loving young male around 2 years old. He's very dog and cat friendly and loves human attention. He did beautifully in foster care with the resident two male dogs - one medium sized lab mix and the other a smaller dog, also with their 3 cats. They all slept peacefully together, all quite content. He was extremely gentle with the toddler in the home. He is house-trained and didn't show any signs of mischievous when left home alone with the other dogs. He's an all around great dog - playful, warm, curious and loving. Dex is neutered, up to date with vaccinations and micro-chipped. His current weight is around 60 lbs.
