Story
Emmie Lou is a 7 year old black & tan coonhound. She weighs around 65 pounds, is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and is on prevention. This girl is full of personality. She is very affectionate and loves attention and to snuggle. Don’t let her age fool you. Emmie Lou is still an active girl that can still tree a coon a lives for her walks. This girl has no trouble walking 6 miles and could keep going. She will help keep you in shape and active since she will sit by the door if you forget her walk. If you need a walking buddy Emmie Lou is your girl. Thank you for your interest in a Save a Stray pet. The first step is to complete an adoption application. https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Since we are located in Mobile, AL, this will give you the opportunity to see the pet interact with other dogs, people, and see a bit of their personality. Transports leave every week alternating between the NE and the Great Lakes. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
Our Zelda is a stunning English Coonhound who was found by county Animal Control Officers in rural Virginia, and was then brought to the local shelter. When Zelda arrived at our Connecticut Rescue, she was a bit anxious, but WOW has she blossomed. Now one year old, Zelda needs a quiet home of her own with adults who can offer her an active lifestyle. Zelda is not the kind of dog who can be relegated to the backyard alone. She craves human connection and one-to-one companionship.  Zelda loves all people and some other well-mannered dogs, but we have not had her around cats. She is a medium sized girl at 50 pounds and is moderately active. She loves a spirited leash walk but then, like most Hounds, knows when to slow down to smell the roses.  Zelda knows most basic commands and is easy to handle. She has good house manners, and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during her transition to a new home. Zelda is in great health, has been spayed, and has received routine vaccinations and health screenings. She has been dewormed, microchipped and is on preventatives for Heartworm and Flea/Tick. If you are interested Zelda, please write to Denise@eskiesonline.com or text Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info.

Story
Meet Duke! We got him today, fully vetted, from a cruelty case that went to court and he was officially awarded to Animal Control after being starved by his owner. He’s been boarding through the ordeal at Karmas Cozy Kennels and they put a lot of weight on him! Duke is 5 and weighs about 60 pounds now. He is happy and healthy are ready for adoption! He gets along with all dogs but he really enjoys small dogs. He rode great in the car, he’s great on a leash, he’s just a really good boy!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.April 29, 2024, 5:57 am

He is crate and house trained. Copper is building his confidence with each new experience and is practicing his leash walking skills. He would love a home with another dog companion. As with every dog, he will need a forever family who is committed to continuing his socialization and training. Copper is a 8 month old Coonhound mix.
