Story
Rosie is an absolute sweetheart who loves everyone she meets.  She recently finished raising her 11 pups and is now ready to find her own forever home. She is a 1.5 - 2 year old, 50 pound red coonhound mix who still has her puppy playtime moments where she likes to play tug and fetch, and toss her treats up the air like toys.  She still has puppy energy and she needs her walks and playtime to stay happy. She then will just as quickly decide its time for bed and jump up next to you on the couch to sleep or try to crawl in your lap.   She likes to watch the squirrels outside the window, but rarely barks unless she sees deer walk by.   She is 100% house and crate trained and responds well on leash.  True to her breed she will try to chase every squirrel she sees but can quickly be brought back to attention on walks.  This also means she can not be placed in a house with cats.     She plays well with other dogs and loves her 13 year old beagle/basset foster sister. She would do best with a fenced yard where she can run and play.   The adoption fee of $150 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 23, 2026, 11:27 am
