Story
Rosie is an absolute sweetheart who loves everyone she meets.  She recently finished raising her 11 pups and is now ready to find her own forever home. She is a 1.5 - 2 year old, 50 pound red coonhound mix who still has her puppy playtime moments where she likes to play tug and fetch, and toss her treats up the air like toys.  She still has puppy energy and she needs her walks and playtime to stay happy. She then will just as quickly decide its time for bed and jump up next to you on the couch to sleep or try to crawl in your lap.   She likes to watch the squirrels outside the window, but rarely barks unless she sees deer walk by.   She is 100% house and crate trained and responds well on leash.  True to her breed she will try to chase every squirrel she sees but can quickly be brought back to attention on walks.  This also means she can not be placed in a house with cats.     She plays well with other dogs and loves her 13 year old beagle/basset foster sister. She would do best with a fenced yard where she can run and play.   The adoption fee of $250 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Ringo is about 4 years old. We took him in when his person passed away. Ringo is currently working on his weight loss journey (76lbs ) and is already seeing great progress with his foster mom's coaching and daycare play time. He enjoys walks and playing tug with his toys and is doing well with the other dogs in his foster home. Little kids and cats are unknown at this time. Ringo is available through Guardians of the Green Mile (www.gotgm.org) of Portage, IN. Application can be found here: https://www.jotform.us/form/43196636952162Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet from Guardians of the Green Mile Inc. We are a group of individuals that have come together to save the lives of animals that are in danger of being euthanized. We raise funds to fully vet the animals and to provide them with a stable home until they are adopted. All of the dogs in our Rescue are in Foster homes while they are looking for their forever family. The only time we put a dog in boarding is for a Foster to go on vacation if another Foster is not able to care for them. We appreciate your taking the time to fill out the application to adopt one of our Guardians of the Green Mile pets. The questions that we ask are to only find the right fit for all of our dogs and the families that will be adopting them. Adoption donation is $300.00 for dogs over 1 year old and $350 with a $50.00 spay / neuter deposit for puppies/dogs under 1 year old.
