Story
This cutie is Cosmo Park Avenue. He is currently 4 months old and weighs 17 pounds. We think he may be an American English Coonhound mix, but with rescue it’s a guess! What matters most is that he is an adorable pup and among the MOST desperate in the entire US based on statistics for where this puppy is from. Shelters in this area are having to euthanize puppies. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from us, it saves their life as well as the life of another in its place. Watch Cosmo's playful personality here: https://youtu.be/oLREEt49_h8?si=ph0SVN5ruVQOJzyF Cosmo is playful, sweet, curious, and cuddly. He loves to play with the other dog at his foster home. He takes lots of naps. Eat, sleep, play, repeat- such is puppy life! We pride ourselves in being able to give you good personality and behavioral information to help ensure this baby is the right fit for you. You are also welcome to do a Facetime call to meet your new baby before signing paperwork! Cosmo is still very young and will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. He is crate trained and is pretty good with "sit" and "come" commands. A puppy is discovering new things that shape their personalities with each passing day. Implementing routine, structure, setting boundaries, and proper socialization is key from the start. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy starting immediately when arriving at their new home, which will help with potty training, energy management, and the overall development of a well-rounded adult dog. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? At our 2-acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth, and we enjoy seeing their progress! We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. It doesn’t stop there! Story
Meet Penny! Penny is a spirited six-and-a-half-year-old Coonhound Mix currently in Cincinnati, OH, whose heart is as big as her velvety tricolored coat and whose soulful eyes sparkle with devotion. She carries the perfect balance of playful energy and steady companionship, always ready for her next adventure! Penny thrives on routine and truly blossoms in a caring environment. She would benefit from a securely fenced yard where she can safely explore while following her curious hound nose. Daily walks are one of her favorite rituals, and she is a wonderful walker who hardly ever pulls, happily trotting along at your side. Car rides have quickly become her happy place, because to Penny the car means something magical is about to happen. Whether it is a park visit, a scenic drive, or a simple errand, she settles in with bright anticipation for the fun ahead. Penny has truly been thriving with regular outings. She has visited the mall and even met Santa this year, tagged along for late night gas station trips, and helped with a stop at Liberty Tax. She enjoys Walmart and Home Depot adventures, happily soaking up attention from adults and even allowing gentle pets from older kids. She clearly forms a deep bond with her person and loves being someone’s loyal buddy! She’s incredibly smart and food-motivated, making her eager to learn new tricks. She already knows sit, down, spin, and place, and is working on mastering stay and recall. She has a wonderfully goofy personality and isn’t shy about showing affection. In the home, Penny forms a deep bond with her person and becomes wonderfully attached, often leaning in for her signature dog hug and resting her head gently against you. She loves when adults pet her and has recently shown that she will even allow some older kids to offer gentle affection, though small children can still make her feel nervous. She is crate-trained, house-trained, and comfortable being left alone for short periods, though her happiest moments are spent close to her favorite human. Penny does have some anxiety, particularly around storms and the vet, but she’s a resilient girl who just needs reassurance in those moments. Penny has never bitten a person. However, she has experienced challenges with other dogs. She has bitten a dog in the past due to resource guarding her food, and a second incident occurred without a clear trigger. For this reason, she must be the only pet in the home, where she can feel secure, relaxed, and fully supported without the stress of sharing her space or resources. She is already spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and on allergy medication to keep her feeling her best. At 90 pounds, she would benefit from a balanced diet and healthy routine to help her feel her very best. If you’re looking for an affectionate, fun-loving companion who will fill your home with love and laughter, Penny just might be the right match for your family!
