Rescued from a hoarding situation and transferred to FDHS from an out-of-state rescue, Merv has traded life on a chain for belly rubs, soft blankets, and all the attention he can soak up.Despite a rough past, Merv is nothing but sweet. He loves people of all ages, has a silly, happy-go-lucky nature, and always manages to make staff smile with his goofy antics. He enjoys hanging out with female dogs but can be a bit selective with males. And like many hounds, cats just aren’t his thing—he’s got too much “hound dog” in his blood for that!Merv is looking for a loving retirement home where he can enjoy sunshine, snuggles, and a slower pace. He’s available now for foster or adoption, and he can’t wait to show you how much love one old hound can bring. **Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. Weighs about 50 lbs**
