Story
Hi… I’m Atta 🐾 I’m 1 year old, a Jindo × Hound mix girl, and about 10kg (22 lbs) of pure love and wiggles. When I was just 3 months old, I was placed on the euthanasia list at a shelter in Gwangju. I was still such a tiny puppy. Thankfully, kind people rescued me, and I spent two whole months in a foster home learning something very special — what it feels like to be loved, to live in a house, and to trust human hands. Now I’m safe, and I’m waiting for you — my forever family. My name, “Atta,” sounds bright and cheerful… and that’s exactly who I am! I truly love people. I love being near you, leaning into you, looking up at you, and giving you all my affection. I’m the kind of dog who makes you smile without even trying. When it’s playtime, I’m energetic and a little silly. I love to move, explore, and have fun! But inside the house, I’m very good at settling down. I can rest calmly and simply enjoy being quietly by your side. I’m gentle and friendly with people of all ages, and I can be soft and sweet with children too. I also get along well with other dogs — I have good manners and enjoy having canine friends. I’ve learned indoor potty training, though in a new environment I might make a small mistake at first. I’m still just a young puppy, after all. If you guide me patiently and lovingly, I promise I’ll learn quickly and try my very best to make you proud. I’m still growing — not just in size, but in heart and experience. I’m ready to go on walks with you, learn new things with you, and build a life together step by step. That’s why I’m looking for a family who will continue guiding me with patience, who will share both playtime and quiet time with me, and who will promise that I will never have to wonder where I belong again. If you give me your heart, I’ll give you mine for the rest of my life. Will you be my forever family? 🐶💕

Post-adoption training is a requirement in our adoption process. He is a puppy at 6 mths old. Mator is a gorgeous Coonhound. He will be a large dog full grown, weighing about 60lbs, and he is a pup that is full of love. He has a lovely tri-colour pattern of a rich brown, black and white. He is a very active dog that would be great for active individuals or families. He loves to bike beside you or go for long walks! His name comes from “Tow- Mater” or more famously known as “Mater” from Cars. He is a lovable side character, with personality traits like being a bit clumsy, but surprisingly wise; He is fiercely loyal, and a cheerful ball of energy, just like our Mator. Mator was a young puppy exploring away from his home and ended up in a shelter where he wasn’t claimed. Mator was then brought into foster care. He settled right in and is such a great little pup! Mator needs proper puppy training, he is young and still as all the puppy characteristics, but he is smart and eager to learn. Mator has proven to be very trainable and being super food motivated, he takes to positive reinforcement training really well. He is learning a lot of core obedience skills in his foster home and picks up on new commands very quickly. Hounds are known for being stubborn learners, but Mator is his own pup and is taking to training really well. Mator had to step away from the adoption spotlight as he broke his leg while running in the yard with his ball, his foot caught and twisted and he had a spiral fracture. He is all healed up now tho and has been given the green light to exercise again which Mator is thrilled with. Mator is a puppy so there must be training and a consistent environment with an ability to focus on him. He would be best with active individuals who have the time to care for a puppy. Mator would be fine in a home with older children, over 6yrs, who have the time to puppy train and focus on Mator to make him the best dog he can be. Mator likes to sing; it sounds like a full choir but it's just Mator. He isnt a nuisance barker but when he hears some other dogs barking he does have a habit to start howling like all good hounds will do. They are pack dogs and howling with the pack is in their DNA! With the right amount of exercise when it is time for him to go in his crate at night time he barks five minutes max and then is out for a good sleep. He enjoys two solid walks a day at a fast pace, a good game of fetch, yard time, and him wrestling on his own with a toy. His exercise needs will continue to grow as he matures and he is a suitable dog for those that are very active and outdoorsy and are looking for a hiking/walking/running/biking companion. Mator would be best in a home with a fenced in yard so he can sniff and explore while remaining safe and not having the ability to wander. If no fenced yard he will need a safe close by fenced area, like a ball diamond for example, where he can safely run and get some energy out. It is very necessary he wear a martingale collar when our on walks so he cannot slip out while walking because he tends to get very scared and jumpy if a truck or transport truck goes by. Due to his breed, he has an innate desire to hunt and sniff. If you let him roam free he will catch wind of an interesting scent and you will lose him. Hounds cannot be off leash outside of a secure fenced in area. Mator needs someone who is attentive and able to take responsibility of him. A favourite trait of Mator’s is he loves to make little sassy groans when you wake him up or hug him. Mater is overall such a talker whether it's quiet or loud he's always making a little bit of ruckus. Mator spends at least 4 hours a day in a crate in the house. He is very comfortable with his crate and will voluntarily walk in to take a nap. At night he also spends in a crate in the foster parents room. He is great in the crate at bed. Foster parents find that when he hears someone in the house when he is in the crate during the day he can bark/whine if he is still awake. In the car we have had some instances of him getting car sick however this only seems to happen when it is a new vehicle as well as when he ate something prior to the trip. I believe that was because he ate within an hour of leaving. If you take him in the car with little food in the stomach or at a time that is far from meal times he has no problems! When meeting another animal, Mator is very excited and has the puppy playful energy. Maotr is fostered with another dog and absolutely loves his foster sister. Mator would love another playful dog in the home, but can be equally happy being the only dog and having other dog friends. On walks Mator will someone pull to smell another dog or other wildlife but he remains silent. He is never reactive towards other dogs or wildlife! Mator would love a home where someone in the family runs or bikes and he could run along. He loves to run and is built for it with his sleek build and long legs. He has been to Cani X events (running with your dog) and he would be an ideal dog for this!! He is too young right now to do long runs, but in time, as he matures, he will be an ideal running companion and will certainly make sure you beat your current personal best time! Mator truly is a one-of-a-kind pup waiting to find his forever adventure buddy. All he’s looking for is a loving home where he can be his goofy, energetic, and loyal self. In return, you’ll get a lifetime of companionship, endless adventures, a professional walking and biking partner, and a cheerful best friend who will fill your days with love, laughter, and just the right amount of lovable clumsiness. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick to join you on life’s adventures, sing with you, give all the cuddles, Mator might just be your perfect match! Tow Mater in cars movie might be the sidekick, but Mator the pup needs to be the main character in your home. #rescuedismyfavoritebreed #rescuedog #adoptdontshop #pounddogs #pdr14years #pounddogrescue14yearsstrong Name: Mator ID # PDR1554 Age: 6mths Gender: male Neutered: yes UTD vaccines: yes Breed: Coonhound Colours: tri Coat length: short House trained: yes Special needs: no OK with kids: yes OK with cats: yes Ok with dogs: yes Status: adoptable Microchip: yes Size: large Location: Ayr, Ont Adoption fee: $900
