Pepper and her buddy Salt were picked up by animal control when they were found abandoned in a house after the owner had moved and left them. They are both very sweet, know how to walk on a leash but are a little apprehensive around other dogs. We haven't had them very long so we will update their post when we get to know them better and have more pictures and some video to share.  PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. CosMeaux is our fun, wise and adorable fur baby that we’ve had in our home and hearts since he was 6 weeks old. We adopted him from the Humane Society after family trauma so he is our registered Emotional Support pet whom we love. Due to the shifts in the economy and our housing options, we need to find him a home he can play in and be loved well. He is a barker, always informing us of people outside the house but never violent or aggressive just wants to be pet and played with. Loves to run, go to dog park and play with his furry pals. Does not watch TV but enjoys nature videos and calming music when alone. We do not leave him alone often and never long periods of time.

Birdie is a 2 year old Corgi / Chow Chow blend who joined us recently from a county facility. She's about 30-ish pounds (of fluff!) and she's looking for her forever home. This beautiful, happy girl has excellent leash manners! She enjoys attention and being pet, and will reward you with her smile and some kisses. While she's waiting to be adopted, she's practicing her best smiling poses. She is residing at the adoption center, come and meet her!No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the dog. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)!Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).
