Story
Scamp is a very protective dog when his owner, who recently lost her husband is around but is very quiet and scared when they aren't around. He lives in a multiple human/animal house and it's too much for him. He is not fully potty trained but uses the dog door. He charges at the cats and has charged at the kids when they're loud or running but has never bit anyone. He's a nervous dog who needs a home and training with no cats and no small children. He's also got a crooked foot. Poor honey, needs lots of love.

Story
Poor little Odin needs a break! This handsome young man was found roaming the streets and was brought in to animal control. We pulled him out of the shelter. Now he has been fully vetted and is looking for his forever home. A bit of bad news, though. Odin is heart worm positive. He will need a nice calm place to begin his recovery, but the vet feels that he should be back to 100% in no time. Well, not actually no time. Recovering from heartworm takes a while, but because the infection doesn't seem to be too advanced, we're hoping it won't take too long.

Story
Hi there! My name’s Nick—yes, like “Saint Nick,” though I am more tail wags than toy bags. I am about 20-25 pounds of love, fluff, and mystery lineage. Think labrador charm with the build of a corgi on casual Friday. Me and my brother Skipper were recently surrendered to the pound by our previous owner. The people here at Central Arizona Animal Rescue do not know why they did that to us. I am learning how to get along without my brother and to tell the truth, it is a little scary without him, but if I am ever going to find a cozy corner in someone's heart to call my own I will need to do that by myself. Here is the thing: I did not grow up around many people, so I am what they call “a little shy.” But give me a minute (and maybe a piece of cheese?), and I will be following you around like we have been besties since belly rubs were invented. Cameras freak me out—I know, I know, I am cute, but I prefer to be admired in real life rather so I made it hard for the folks here to get really great photos of me. A few facts about me: I am neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped—basically ready for a lifetime commitment I get along well with other dogs so if you have another dog that would be awesome!  House-trained? Probably but I might need a little refresher training when I get to my new home.  You might ask, what about cats?  Well, that is unknown territory, but I am open to negotiations. My previous owners did not leave any clues and there are none here at the rescue to really be able to find out with. If you have got patience, a comfy couch, and a pocket full of treats, I have got love, loyalty, and some very expressive ears to offer. Wanna meet me? Email mike@caaronline.org to set up a date—I promise to be awkwardly adorable..  With hopeful paws we will meet soon   PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.   All dogs are adopted on a first come - first served basis. Central Arizona Animal Rescue is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 corporation. We are located in San Tan Valley, AZ. If you have other dogs already, you must bring them for introduction prior to adoption. Story
It is my pleasure to introduce you to Chef—a charming and uniquely adorable companion who’s part potato, part loaf of bread, and 100% lovable. Weighing in at approximately 20 pounds, Chef’s breed mix is a bit of a mystery, though he appears to be a Corgi mix. He is estimated to be around 10 years old.   Chef loves his daily walks, which are essential for both his happiness and waistline! His ideal home would include a secure yard where he can safely explore and indulge his love of chasing lizards and birds. Due to his activity needs and preferences, an apartment setting would not be ideal.   Chef would do best in a home without small children, cats, or other small animals such as rabbits, hamsters, or birds. While he generally gets along well with small dogs, he can be possessive of his toys. He would thrive either as an only pet or with a compatible canine companion, in an environment where he can be the center of attention. He will also flourish in a home with slow introductions to strangers and clear boundaries on what is expected from him.    A devoted companion, Chef loves nothing more than being close to his person—whether that means following them from room to room, lounging at their feet, or curling up in bed. As such, Chef is looking for someone who can spend the day with him—he’s not a fan of being left alone for long stretches.   Chef is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and recently had a dental cleaning. He has a very low titer for valley fever and is currently on a twice-daily fluconazole regimen. Additionally, he takes a low-dose prednisone tablet once daily, which is both affordable and manageable.   Chef is ready to bring joy, companionship, and a bit of quirky charm to a loving home that understands and embraces his needs.   Chef is adoptable to homes in Tucson, Marana, Oro Valley, Sahuarita and Catalina only. His adoption fee is $275, with an additional $21 for PACC licensing.   Please fill out an adoption application at www.tucsoncoldwetnoses.com to meet Chef!     *Applications to adopt: wwwTucsonColdWetNoses.com Home Visit / ID and Residence Verification is required.  Compliance does not imply or guarantee adoption.   Approval is the sole discretion of CWN representative(s).
