Story
Hi! I’m Peanut. I’m a 2-year-old, sable-colored, male corgi currently being fostered in Encinitas, CA. I came into rescue, because my family had more on their plate than they could manage. My family wasn’t planning to have puppies. I was born from an unplanned, accidental breeding of my first family’s two Pembroke Welsh Corgis. Because of that, I wasn’t docked (still have my tail) and my ears weren’t taped. I am a sweet boy and enjoy hanging out with my humans and playing ball. A fenced yard would be ideal for my play time, and I’d be fine with children over 10 years old. I’m well socialized and working on basic commands. I’m also crate trained and am learning to walk well on a leash. In my new home, I’d be fine with dog-savvy cats and play well with other dogs. If my new home already has a dog, it would be best if she was female. I’m current on my vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. When the right home is found, I’m ready for adoption. He weighs 30 lbs. To be considered, please submit an adoption application with the rescue for the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of Southern California at www.pwccsc.com/corgi-rescue/. Only applicants in Southern California will be considered. If you have any other questions you may contact Vicky @ 760-672-2258

ATTENTION:  All of our dogs are in private foster homes.  We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs.  If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application.    We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Meet Arlo! Arlo is a 3-year-old, 21-pound Chihuahua/Corgi mix with the sweetest soul and the biggest heart. When he first arrived in foster care, he was timid and unsure of the world around him. But with love, patience, and gentle encouragement, Arlo has blossomed into a joyful, affectionate companion who forms deep bonds with his people. Watching his confidence grow has been incredibly special. Arlo is fully potty trained and walks beautifully on leash. He has wonderful house manners—he’s quiet, respectful, and won’t beg at the dinner table. He enjoys a calm lifestyle and is perfectly content spending much of the day napping nearby, but when it’s time for adventure, Arlo is ready to go. He’s happily completed a 4-mile run and even conquered Cowles Mountain, proving he can be an excellent partner for walks, hikes, or runs. Arlo gets along well with both dogs and cats and brings a gentle, peaceful presence to any home. He thrives with consistency, and because new foods or treats can upset his stomach, he does best with a stable, predictable diet. Arlo is truly a dream boy—loyal, loving, and endlessly deserving of a forever home where he can continue to feel safe, cherished, and loved. He will do best in a calm home where his humans aren't gone for long amounts of time.  He is microchipped and up to date on all his vaccines. His adoption fee is $300. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,   vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to  www.secondchancedogrescue.org  and complete an application today!    All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.  February 26, 2026, 4:10 pm

Pico is an adorable 14-lb, 3-yr-old Heinz 57 variety. The Dog Scanner app can’t make up it’s mind what breed he might be. The only thing we know for sure is he is super cute! Pico loves walks, treats and belly rubs. He enjoys snuggling on the bed or sofa with the humans to watch TV. He gets along great with all the other dogs at his foster home. Pico is potty trained and uses the doggie door to go outside by himself. He sleeps in his own bed or would love to sleep on your bed if that’s ok.
