Story
Fostered in Council Bluffs -Name: Molly -Age: 4 years old -Breed: corgi -What was your life like before NDCB/Where did you come from? I came from a breeding farm -Who is your main caretaker/favorite person now? My favorite person is my foster mom but dad’s cool too. -Are you good with kids? What age ranges? I enjoy kids and respond very positive to them but they do make me nervous when they are loud and fast. I currently live with a 6 year old kiddo who has autism and adhd -Are you good with other dogs? Be VERY specific here? I have 6 foster brother and sisters and they are all so much fun, they are teaching me how to dog. I like to go outside with them and run around but I still like to explore on my own. -Are you good with cats? I was with farm cats and house cats, just ignore them. -Are you housebroken? What is your current potty routine? I only had a couple accidents- mostly at night because i havent been closed in my kennel. My foster mom takes me out morning afternoon and night and i go outaide well- i just am scared to come back in so you may need to go get me. -Do you like car rides? They make me nervous but I have done well! I usually just lay down and occasionally ask for pets or scratches. -Do you like walks? How are you on a leash? The leash scares me and I have a harness i wear if im connected to the leash. I dont like it at all and will try to pull out of it if I can. -Do you like toys? What is your favorite toy? I have a stuffed bear and a squeaky kool-aid man. I mainly like to lay on the. I am a hoarder and like to steal socks or pieces of clothing that may have been left around but I haven't chewed anything up. -Do you know any commands/tricks? No but I’m very smart and will probably learn fast! -How are your house manners? Sometimes I’m scared/ nervous to go in and outside but going with my foster siblings helps. I love my dog bed and especially the human bed but im so short so I need help getting on and off things. -Describe your personality- Im shy at first but im really super sweet, loving , playful and snuggly 💗 -Describe your perfect home: Id love a patient, quiet,(since loud things scare me )loving home with a fenced in yard to run and play and another dog to do that with!

Story
I'm Noel. I'm a little gift waiting to brighten someone's life. I have a big personality packed into my petite frame. I'm a chaser, so no cats or small dogs for me. I'd really like to be an only pet, where I can soak up all the love and attentions myself. I'm loyal, loving and ready to be your holiday and forever companion. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2607619##

Story
Marty came from a breeder in western Iowa. Marty is around 4 years old he has lived with a female husky 6 years old and a yorkipoo 13 years old. He has been around 2 teenagers, (16F) (14F), kids (9M), (7F), (3M) parents are (41F) and (39M). Marty is crate-trained enjoys spending time outside with Husky. Marty likes to cuddle but is also independent in the same way. He has been good with all the dogs and kids! Marty is a treat oriented dog, he enjoys short walks, will get his energy out and then relax. Marty would potentially be best in a female only house hold, he has been fine with me but apparently he does not like men. He has gotten along with our other dogs.

Story
Rusty is 8 years old. He is very chill in some ways. His hobbies include sleeping and laying in the grass outside. He absolutely loves snow and will bulldoze through it at top speed. He is an anxious little guy in other ways however. He is mostly well controlled on medication. He will need a patient and experienced family (maybe no kids). Doesn't want to cuddle much or be around us. He does protect me (one of two moms) and get activated by people coming and going. Has not been around other dogs/cats here (barks at neighborhood dogs). Reacts strongly to noises outside/people walking by. He came to our family 2 years ago in pretty rough shape - severe fleas, underweight, accidents. We have provided a good home for him, but he is not thriving with our young, busy family. We meet his basic needs and he tolerates us in return. He is healthy and vetted. On Rachael Ray small bites food. Completely house trained. Low exercise needs. Kennels well (I WFH so it's limited).

Story
Ellie Mae is a sweet Corgi puppy (born April 2025) looking for a family who would like to play with her, take her on walks and teach her everything she needs to know as she grows.  She is crate trained and friendly with dogs and cats.  Ellie Mae likes to speak her mind and will occasionally dig in the yard as puppies tend to do.  She's doing very well with house training, but still needs to be supervised.  The perfect home for Ellie Mae will have a fenced yard and people who will make sure she gets the exercise she needs. Previous herding dog experience would be a plus!  She has not been around children, so we're not sure how she would do.  Ellie Mae walks okay on her leash, but will benefit from some additional training. The suggested adoption donation for Ellie Mae is $415, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.   Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption.   Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.   To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc. ##2524853##
