This distinguished gentleman is a 7-ish-year-old Corgi who recently began a brand-new chapter after being relinquished by a breeder.   Sir Richard may be shy and a bit reserved at first, but with patience and kindness, he’s starting to discover that people can be pretty wonderful. He’s currently working on his socialization and learning what it means to be part of a loving home.   He gets along well with other dogs and would do best in a calm, patient environment where he can continue to build confidence at his own pace.   If you’re the kind of person who finds joy in helping a gentle soul blossom, Sir Richard is waiting to meet his forever person — someone who will show him that love and safety are here to stay.   Apply at carerescueok.org   ##2539840##

Story
Tannie was originally acquired from a golden retriever breeder. He was the only corgi there, and unfortunately the breeder could no longer care for him. I took him in when he was just 7 months old, and he is now 5 years old. Tannie is a very laid-back corgi with a sweet personality. He is a little on the heavier side at 35 lbs, so he would do best in a home that can help keep him active and get him back to a healthier weight for a male corgi. He barely barks — usually only tiny barks when playing with another dog, and almost never when someone is at the door. With life changes and a demanding new career, I can no longer give him the time and care he deserves. He has been staying with my in-laws, but they have not been able to properly care for him either. It truly saddens me to have to make this decision, but I know Tannie deserves a home where he can receive the love, attention, and care he needs again. I am hoping to find him a loving new family that will cherish him as much as I do.
