She likes to play with my dog Teddy (a 2.5 year old choc lab) and gets her own zoomies, even though she’s 8. She loves balls and little stuffies.    She’s crate trained and not destructive at all. Only has accidents if left outside the crate and without humans home for more than a few hours. She sleeps on my bed without night issues.    She ADORES her primary person. She’ll be your shadow. She’s fine with people (new or known) coming and going from the house.    She loves food. Definitely needs less. She’s gotten fat with us because my dog grazes and I just fill the bowl. She might benefit from scheduled feedings    No young kids for her. When she’s settled in for a nap, bed or has a favorite toy, she will growl if you bother her. If you don’t heed her warning she will nip.    Re. The cleft palate, It hasn’t been an issue. It doesn’t impede her breathing, eating or playing with balls or her favorite little stuffies. Her mouth is petite so small kibble and treats. They pulled teeth before she came up here. All her remaining teeth look white and healthy.    My yard is fenced so I haven’t taken her for any long walks. Though she does well on a leash when I’ve taken her places. She doesn’t need a lot of exercise. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. Meet Cassius!You ever see something that's just so WEIRD that you're like, "I must protect this odd little creature at all costs"?Yeah. That's how we feel about Cassius.We don't know what Cassius is. The records he came with say "miniature Australian shepherd" but we're kind of feeling more Australian cattle dog/corgi, if we're being totally honest. He's corgi shaped with the coat of a cattle dog - that's all we know. He's about 7.5 years old and weighs a little over 30lbs.Cassius is a very sweet boy but he's a shy, sensitive soul. So far, he's been the kind of guy to hide or run away when he's uncomfortable rather than be defensive or even growl. Slow and steady will be the key with this guy - take it slow, win him over, and he'll love you forever AND reward you with showing you his silly goose side. 10/10, worth it every time.He does warm up more quickly to women than men but don't fret, fellas. He'll get there eventually if you try hard enough.Cassius previously lived with other dogs without issue and has done very well with them here. Being with another dog may actually give him a bit more confidence. We haven't officially tested him with cats yet but we will be doing that in the coming days. We would prefer kids 12+ just because he is so shy at first and kids can be A LOT when you're already unsure and overwhelmed. He's FANTASTIC on a leash and will stay right by your side and if he gets distracted, it's very easy to regain his attention. Meet Sahara! 🐾 Sahara is an absolutely adorable 4-month-old Corgi Australian Shepherd mix who will likely be around 35 Ibs full grown. She's sweet, silly, playful, and always ready for whatever fun is happening next!This girl LOVES toys, playing with other dogs, and anything involving water. Pool? Yes. Creek? Absolutely. A chance to splash around on a warm day? She's already packed her bags. 😂 We have a feeling Sahara would make an amazing little adventure buddy and could easily learn to paddleboard, canoe, hike, or tag along for just about anything her family wants to do.Sahara can be a little shy when she first meets someone, but give her a minute and she warms up quickly. Once she does, her goofy little personality comes right out! She would do best with a relatively active family and would especially love having another dog in the home to play with. She also does great with kids and cats.She's doing great with crate and house training, is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to bounce right into her forever home! Sahara is looking for a family that wants a sweet, fun little sidekick who's always up tor an adventure! ❤️

Introducing Nash! 🐾❤️ Nash is a 14-week-old Corgi/Shepherd mix with approximately 90% ears and 10% puppy. 😂 We’re pretty sure he can hear a treat bag open from three counties away. This adorable little guy is sweet, funny, playful, and just a tiny bit shy when he first meets you. Give him a minute, though, and he warms right up and is ready to be your best friend! He loves toys, romping around with other dogs, and having some good old-fashioned puppy fun. And once playtime is over, he’s more than happy to settle in for some snuggles. 🥹 Nash is medium energy, does great with kids, cats, and other dogs, and he’s already doing really well with both crate and house training. He’s the perfect combination of playful, cuddly, and ridiculously cute. He’s neutered, UTD on vaccinations, and ready to find his forever home! 🏡🐾

From Jimmy's foster family: He has become part of our family immediately! He is gentle, quiet, and gets along great with our dogs. Great with cats too. A quick learner for our dog door and steps, neither had he used before. Still working on some house training. Jimmy is crate trained, sleeps all night, and walks well on a leash. He loves attention but does not crave it. We love this boy! And to think that Jimmy was found in a ditch...FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Meet Peejay!  Peejay is a 15-lb Corgi mix with a heart much bigger than his little body. His love language is physical touch, and he is happiest when he’s being pet, cuddled, or nuzzling his little face into your neck.  This sweet boy is a total shadow, following his foster mom from room to room with his tail wagging nonstop. He is simply the happiest little guy and has been the best boy in his foster home! He sleeps through the night in his crate, takes care of business right away when he goes outside, and has been an absolute gentleman with his older foster fur-sister. Peejay LOVES going for walks and has been impressing his foster mom with how far his little legs can take him. He loves treats and is currently working on learning how to sit. If you’re looking for a happy, affectionate little shadow who just wants to love you with his whole heart, Peejay may be your guy! This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered.
