Story
Adoption Donation    $   399 Located: New England  (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details) Age: approx 8 years old Weight: 18 lbs.   Buffy settled in and her personality came out. She likes to play with my dog Teddy (a 2.5 year old choc lab) and gets her own zoomies, even though she’s 8. She loves balls and little stuffies.    She’s crate trained and not destructive at all. Only has accidents if left outside the crate and without humans home for more than a few hours. She sleeps on my bed without night issues.    She ADORES her primary person. She’ll be your shadow. She’s fine with people (new or known) coming and going from the house.    She loves food. Definitely needs less. She’s gotten fat with us because my dog grazes and I just fill the bowl. She might benefit from scheduled feedings    No young kids for her. When she’s settled in for a nap, bed or has a favorite toy, she will growl if you bother her. If you don’t heed her warning she will nip.    Re. The cleft palate, It hasn’t been an issue. It doesn’t impede her breathing, eating or playing with balls or her favorite little stuffies. Her mouth is petite so small kibble and treats. They pulled teeth before she came up here. All her remaining teeth look white and healthy.    My yard is fenced so I haven’t taken her for any long walks. Though she does well on a leash when I’ve taken her places. She doesn’t need a lot of exercise. She zooms around on her own when she wants to.     If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information: bctek78@gmail.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save li ves from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   bctek78@gmail.com Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. Wanda **Not Available to Be Seen Until Open House on Wednesday March 11** Good with Kids & Dogs! Meet Wanda! 3 mos./10 lb./Female/Corgi Mix Name: Wanda Age: 3 months Weight: 10 lbs Breed: Corgi Mix Status: Short legs, big plans, currently accepting forever applications 💕 About Me: Hi, I’m Wanda — 10 pounds of compact confidence and pure puppy sweetness. I’ve got those signature corgi vibes: sturdy little legs, curious mind, and a personality that’s bigger than my body. I’m playful, cuddly, and just independent enough to make you laugh. I love being held (as you can see), but I’m also ready to explore the world one tiny trot at a time. I’m still a baby, so I’m learning all the puppy basics — but I promise to grow into the most loyal, fun-sized best friend you’ve ever had. Best Qualities: • Perfectly portable size • Curious and brave • Snuggly but spunky • Future queen of the household My Ideal Match: • A family ready for puppy training and puppy giggles • Someone who appreciates a little sass with their sweetness • A home where I can be included in all the adventures • Humans prepared for low-to-the-ground zoomies Deal Breakers: • Expecting me to stay tiny forever (I’ll grow a little!) • No time for playtime or cuddles • Not ready for corgi-level personality Fun Fact: I may be short, but my life goals are tall — starting with stealing your heart and possibly your favorite blanket.

I’ve got a serious little face that makes me look like I’m deep in thought (I probably am… about snacks). I’m curious, observant, and just confident enough to explore new things without losing my sweet side. I love being close to my people, learning new tricks, and showing off my sturdy little corgi mix strut. I’m still a baby, so I’m working on all the puppy basics — but I’m smart, eager, and ready to grow into someone’s loyal sidekick. Best Qualities: • Thoughtful, observant personality • Smart and quick to learn • Playful but not over-the-top • Compact, sturdy little build • Bonds closely with his people My Ideal Match: • A family ready for puppy training and bonding • Someone who appreciates a slightly serious, sweet soul • A home where I can explore, play, and then curl up nearby • Humans who want a best friend for the long haul Deal Breakers: • No time for guidance and structure • Expecting me to come fully trained (I’m still learning!) • Underestimating the personality in this 10-lb package Fun Fact:My “serious” face disappears the second I start playing — then it’s all zoomies and puppy antics. If you’re looking for a loyal little companion with brains, heart, and just enough sass to keep you smiling -Winston is your guy!
