Story
💌 Dear Future Valentine, My name is Augie, and my heart is officially ready. ❤️ I’m an 8-year-old corgi mix, a happy little guy with a big love for the cozy things in life, especially soft beds, blankets, and anything cushy enough for a good nap (bonus points if it’s extra plush 😆). I might be a tiny bit shy when we first meet, but don’t let that fool you. Once I know you’re my person, I’m all in...kisses included. 😘 And fair warning: belly rubs are basically my love language. I enjoy toys now and then, but my true talents include being sweet, snuggly, and excellent at relaxing beside you. I’m past the puppy chaos and fully embracing my role as a gentle, affectionate companion, who just wants a warm spot and a kind heart to call home. 🏠 If you’re looking for a loyal Valentine who will adore you quietly, love you deeply, and happily curl up beside you, I might be your perfect match. 💘 Love, Augie 🐾 ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://iamdogrescue.org/adoption-application/ ***IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ*** Our adoption fee is $175. We require an application to be completed prior to setting up a meet-and-greet. We do not offer "on-the-spot" adoptions. We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We do our best to match dogs with families that will be a good fit to help ensure a successful adoption. We reserve the right to decline any application for any reason. Due to the nature of our adoption process, our fosters are usually only able to consider forever families within a reasonable driving distance of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. A vet reference is required, and a trial period will be completed before finalizing the adoption. Thank you for your understanding.

Story
Gus is 4 yrs old and a sweet dog, sensitive and a cuddler, but I adopted him with his brother at 2 mths from the same litter. At the time I was unfamiliar with littermate syndrome and they have been fighting since around 6-9 mths and it has progressively gotten worse and more frequent. I feel he would be best in a home with out children (he hasn't been around them much) or other dogs. He is reactive to people and other dogs. I've tried some different training on my own but it hasn't improved and I am worried about one of the dogs being injured seriously. I'm heartbroken but I live with my 85 year old Mom and she's unable to physically handle him and has almost fallen trying to break up fights. I will have his shots up to date before rehoming.

Story
Luca came to us as a foster when his owner moved to an apartment and could not afford the pet deposit. He is about 20 lbs and 3 years old. He is fully vetted and house trained to a doggy door. Crate trained. Good with other dogs, cats and free range chickens. Luca is the CUTEST low riding Corgi/Mini Aussie mix with a lovely tail with a white tip. Luca needs some work on a leash but he is happy and healthy. He would also be good with kids. He’s a SUPER SNUGGLER! Please know if you adopt him that you need to make room in your bed, on your couch or on your chair for him! He needs that personal contact!

Story
We received an email asking if we would take Oreo into Cody's from a local shelter. He was surrendered by his owner because of "allergies". It is FLEA allergies. He was covered. This poor dog is not only heartworm positive, filthy (had to live outside all of his days) and severely matted on his legs and behind. As you can tell he could not see, and has a large, infected lump on his side. He has been deeply neglected. He was scared out of his mind in the shelter and shut down. After getting him today he is sweet, loving and so very tired. He allowed us to pet all over him. We cut the hair out of his eyes and loved on him. He will be decompressing for awhile and resting and then we begin his health journey. We desperately need a foster. We will need money, too. He is precious and so worth it. He is about 5 years old and 25 lbs but doesn't look it. He is low to the ground. He is great with other dogs. Now that he has been in a foster home we have an update. His skin is much better and healing. He is so happy. We do not think he is 5 years old. We think he is more like 2 years old. He is playful and happy. He had to be completely shaved but will grow back quickly. ##2579501##
