Story
Bella is a truly sweet, loving dog with a lot to offer her future family. While her exact age is unknown, veterinarians estimate she’s somewhere between 2 and 5+ years old. She is spayed and fully up to date on all vaccines and preventatives, so she’s ready to settle right into her next home.
Over the past month, Bella has done wonderfully living with a house cat and a resident 2-year-old female German Shepherd. She plays well with other dogs and enjoys companionship, though she does have a confident personality and can show a little “alpha lady” energy at times. She has also been fantastic with high-energy, noisy young children and handles the chaos of a busy household with patience and grace.
Bella is both potty trained and crate trained. She knows her routine, though she may need a reminder or two depending on the weather or how motivated she is in the moment. Her breed mix is unknown, but she likely has some Corgi and Terrier in her, which explains her intelligence, determination, and occasional stubborn streak. At around 50 pounds, she has perfected the art of planting her feet and becoming a “boat anchor” on walks when she decides she’s done—gentle encouragement gets her moving again.
She initially showed strong food motivation, likely due to inconsistent access before coming into care, but that behavior has quickly faded. Within a week, she stopped trying to steal food and now allows her bowl to be picked up without any guarding. Bella also handles regular grooming well, including baths, nail trims, ear cleaning, and teeth care. While she’s not a big fan of water, she tolerates bath time just fine, especially when kept on a leash.
Bella is a wonderful mix of affectionate, confident, and adaptable, and she would thrive in a home ready to appreciate her personality, quirks, and big heart.
All of our dogs are located in a foster home in Texas or Pennsylvania. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Mutts N Such direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc). Our out of state adoption fee is $350 plus transport (varies by location). This fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, a registered microchip, fecal analysis, spay/neuter for pets 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs will be current on flea/heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days.
