If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will melt your heart with her quiet charm, Cookie is the one for you! New foster dogs need time to feel safe. They may be skittish or fearful, so always stay with them outside—even in fenced yards. Ensure collars and leashes fit securely to prevent escapes. Your gentle presence and protection help them feel loved and secure. The adoption fee helps allow Perfect Paws to provide all animals with current, age appropriate vaccinations which include, DHLPP, Kennel Cough and Rabies (if the pet is at least 13 weeks old), and spay/neuter when necessary.  The fee also helps with the cost of deworming; heartworm testing (if the pet is at least 1 year old), heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention for animals cared for through the rescue. He will go home with a collar, leash, and vaccination record. Here’s what we know so far: &#226&#156&#133 Loves Treats: Greenies at bedtime are her favorite!&#226&#156&#133 Leash Walking: Once the leash is on, she’s a great walker. She’s a little nervous when we put it on, so patience is key.&#226&#156&#133 Potty Training: Still working on going outside—she hasn’t mastered it yet.&#226&#156&#133 Personality: Very sweet and curious! She watches our dog and is starting to come over for pets. She’s allowed us to pet her too, which is huge progress.&#226&#156&#133 Bath Time: Did great during her bath!&#226&#156&#133 Crate Trained: Doesn’t love going in, but once inside, she settles nicely.&#226&#156&#133 Prefers Men: Seems more comfortable around males or less fearful of them. She’s 4 years old, weighs 13 pounds, and is ready to find a loving family to call her own. The Good Stuff Timid at first, but warms up quickly and loves attention Gets super excited when she sees you and wags her tail like crazy Loves to sit in your lap and be your shadow around the house Crate-trained when you’re away and sleeps quietly (she enjoyed snoozing in a recliner last night!) Smart girl! She followed my dog’s lead and used the doggie door on her first night Doesn’t mind the leash—still learning, but no fuss Things We’re Working On Potty training is still a work in progress She’s cautious around other dogs—getting better, but not ready to play yet Prefers being indoors, especially in cold weather (who can blame her?!) This sweet pup just needs a patient, loving home where she can feel safe and continue to blossom.
