Story
This is Alfie, a loyal Coton de Tulear, born in 2012!  He might be a senior, but he still acts like he's 8 years old!  Alfie is well-trained on the leash and responsive to commands.  He would love a fenced yard so he can explore on his own.  He would really prefer to have a cozy spot by your side and not be in a kennel.  He also enjoys having his own space to take an occasional nap.   Alfie thrives in a calm environment because sudden movements and noises tend to startle him.  He would probably be okay in a home with older kids (age 12+), no young children.  Alfie's gentle demeanor makes him a perfect match for a single individual or a retired couple seeking a devoted companion.  He is friendly around some other dogs. Are you ready to open your heart and home to Alfie?  This delightful senior gentleman would LOVE to be your loyal companion.   The suggested adoption donation for Alfie is $300, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $390,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Angel is a female Shih Tzu, appx 4.5 years old (born March 2021).   Angel gets along great with kids, and would love to have a canine buddy in the home.  Angel is playful girl that loves running in the yard with another dog.   She loves chasing toys and wrestling. She loves all people and did great with lots of people around at Thanksgiving!  Angel would do best in a home if someone is home most of the time because she has a little separation anxiety. Angel is mostly potty trained and is used to going outside every two hours for a potty break.  Otherwise, she will go on her potty pad.  Before living at her current foster home, she only used potty pads and never went outside so she has made lots of progress.  She sleeps all night without needing to go out.  Angel will need time to transition when she moves to a new home and it will be wise to at least start with a potty pad for her.  As she feels more secure, she will probably adjust to going outside with regular potty breaks. The suggested adoption donation for Angel is $475, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life.
