Story
This is Alfie, a loyal Coton de Tulear, born in December 2009!  Alfie is well-trained on the leash and responsive to commands.  He would love a fenced yard so he can explore on his own.  He would really prefer to have a cozy spot by your side and not be in a kennel.  He also enjoys having his own space to take an occasional nap.   Alfie thrives in a calm environment because sudden movements and noises tend to startle him.  He would probably be okay in a home with older kids (age 12+), no young children.  Alfie's gentle demeanor makes him a perfect match for a single individual or a retired couple seeking a devoted companion.  He is friendly around some other dogs. Are you ready to open your heart and home to Alfie?  This delightful senior gentleman would LOVE to be your loyal companion.   The suggested adoption donation for Alfie is $300, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $390,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Meet Ivy! Ivy and several other dogs made their way to Brave after their breeder could "no longer care for them" and was looking to downsize their operation. Ivy is a sweet girl who just wants to be loved. She is a true lap dog and the best snuggle buddy. She will be your shadow, happily following you wherever you go. She loves spending time outside and she opens up more and more each day. Story
This happy girl is Jasmine! Jasmine and several other dogs made their way to Brave after their breeder could "no longer care for them" and was looking to downsize their operation. Jasmine quickly figured out how great pet life can be and she immediately leaned into all of the perks. Treats? YES, PLEASE! A basket of toys? She'll play with them all! Cozy beds and snuggles? Life couldn't be better. Jasmine is extremely food motivated. She loves playing with and hoarding her toys. She loves her foster parents and spending time outside. Jasmine loves all people, but she has a special bond with other dogs. She needs to go to a home with another dog who can provide the comfort and friendship she needs. Don't have a dog? Jasmine would love to be adopted with her "sister" Ivy!  See Jasmine here: https://youtube.com/shorts/fPnxs2Nlg3Y?si=Np8FPQyYs0dQ3u7q House trained: Doing well!
