Story
Oscar is basically Mr. Perfect, in my opinion. He is the whole package... potty trained, well behaved, sweet as sugar, VERY playful, energetic, crate trained, house trained, handsome, loving and adorable, snuggly, you name it, this guy has it all wrapped up in a lowrider body. I'm having a hard time even thinking of letting him go to somebody else so you have to be pretty perfect, like him, for me to approve your application. A couple of German Shepherds tried to eat his head, so he looks like Stripe from the show The Gremlins, with his scars on his poor head and he doesn't like large dogs because of it. He is also afraid of cats and will bark at them. He needs a buddy his size (He's about 20 lb) to rough house and play with, to run around with in a securely fence yard and in the house where they can have squeaky toys and bones. He would love someone home most of the time, but he is perfectly content in a plastic crate, he prefers that to a metal one and will not settle in a dog bed at night, he will go to the plastic crate instead. I've taught him to wait at the top of the stairs and the bottom of the stairs until I have ascended or descended and then he can do the same but only after me. I've also taught him to ring the bell to go out and he absolutely loves to be outside, just looking around. When he lets you know he needs to go outside to potty, you best let him out right then! He would LOVE to have a doggie door and a very secure fenced yard to go out into with a doggie friend to romp and play with!I'm teaching him to sit and wait when I open a door before he goes outside, for safety reasons. He's great on a leash and loves to ride in a car, safely buckled into his harness. **He is absolutely terrified of fireworks and loud noises outside** so he has to have melatonin (but he can't physically eat gummies lol) or trazodone when there are going to be fireworks or very loud noises!!!He is neutered, microchipped, has had his rabies, Bordetella, distempor-parvo booster, dewormed, heartworm negative and unprevention. Apply for this perfect gentleman online at MadisonARF.orgHis adoption fee is $200

Story
Rusty is a very fine and distinguished dog. He was rescued from Decatur Animal Services by my MIL. He has been an excellent companion for her the past 4 years. His age seems to be 5-6 YO. Our MIL has been placed in a nursing home and Rusty was unable to follow. He visits the nursing home every Sunday and is a crowd pleaser due to his laid back personality and demeanor. He loves front porch sitting, riding shot gun, naps and long walks. He does love toys and plays well with other dogs. Please note that he came to us as a dog that was the center of attention not only to my MIL but to the other elderly apartment clients. He was spoiled. Perfect match is someone who is somewhat active but knows how to relax. Willing to travel to help Rusty find his perfect person.

Story
Meet Winnie, a spirited 2-to-3-year-old Dachshund mix who is ready to bring a mountain of personality into her forever home. Winnie is truly a "mountain goat" in a small package. She is incredibly energetic and agile. When she isn’t keeping the small wildlife out of the backyard or patrolling the neighborhood, she is a dreaming of how to get the baked goods off the counter. At night, she burrows deep under the covers to find the warmest spot in your bed. While Winnie is a sweet soul, she is looking for a home where she can be the only dog. She can be reactive with other dogs while playing with toys or if she finds food on the floor. Due to this behavior, she requires a home without young children. Winnie is perfectly fine sharing her space with feline friends. Winnie’s Ideal Home: 🐾Prefered to be the only dog (cats are ok) 🐾Adult home: A quiet home without young children 🐾Active Lifestyle: Someone who loves long walks and high-energy play. Winnie loves food puzzles and dispensing toys. Winnie is a great dog, she just has a couple special needs to thrive in her future home. ☑️ up to date on vaccines ☑️ spayed ☑️ microchipped ☑️ heartworm negative Winnie is being fostered in Madison, AL. We are looking for local adopters only. If you would like to learn more about Winnie, please fill out an adoption application at forrescue.net
