Rockey is a sweet, energetic Dachshund mix with plenty of heart and the determination to go the distance for his forever home! He loves people but prefers to make the first move when saying hello. Rockey appreciates having his personal space respected and may give a little warning when he's feeling uncomfortable, so he'd do best in a home with no children or older children who understand dog body language. He's playful, energetic , and does well with other dogs, but a meet and greet is required with any potential canine siblings. His estimated DOB is 06/01/2020. With the right person in his corner, Rockey is ready to be a champion companion!Rockey's adoption fee is $125Our adoption fee is $125 for small breed dogs under 20 pounds and $100 for all other dogs and cats unless otherwise noted in their bio. Story
Meet Oscar 🐾 Oscar is a one-of-a-kind little guy who is part Dachshund, part Chihuahua part Pittie, part mystery, and 100% lovable! With his long body and short little legs, he’s basically a hot dog with a Pittie smile. 😂❤️ Oscar is super affectionate, playful, and cuddly. At just barely a year old he has plenty of energy and loves to play, but when playtime is over, he’s more than happy to curl up with his favorite person. He also does wonderfully with other dogs and sleeps like a champ in his crate. 💤 He’s mostly potty trained and is learning more every day. He’s also apparently pursuing a career in interior design—he loves rearranging the dog beds and toys to create what he believes is the perfect layout. 😂 Oscar does have a mischievous side. He LOVES food and may occasionally jump on tables or go looking for snacks. In fact, this little genius has figured out how to open Tupperware! We believe some of this comes from his history of food insecurity, so he’s still learning that he doesn’t have to worry about where his next meal is coming from. ❤️ Oscar is sweet, silly, energetic, affectionate, and just the right amount of naughty. He’s looking for a family who will give him patience, structure, cuddles, playtime, and most importantly, the chance to finally feel safe and loved. Oscar may rearrange your furniture, steal your heart, and possibly figure out your Tupperware… but we promise he’s worth it. 🐶❤️ Local adoption fee is $350 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $650 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Paula is a sweet girl who has lived a hard life. Having come from a house of abuse and neglect, Paula has been on a path of healing as she learns the joys of a warm, dry shelter, and food in her bowl every day. Paula has been the mother to several young pups, the last of which were luckily adopted and sent to live better lives than the one she had lived previously. She is very sweet, and still has a mother's protective spirit toward the foster kittens in her current residence. Paula having been starved in the past has some food aggression, and has been showing improvement as she continues to realize that she won't be going hungry any time soon. She loves to run, bask in the sun on a warm patch of grass, and snuggle with her human as she gives kisses. Paula deserves a home that will continue to show her patience, love, and that she deserves a good life.

Story
🐾 Meet Iris! Your Perfect Little Shadow 💗 Hi there! I’m Iris, a petite 32-pound bundle of sweetness with a curly tail, a cute little smile, and a whole lot of love to give! My siblings and I were dumped along a very rural gravel road, but thankfully, a kind lady took all four of us in and gave us a chance at a better life. We all look remarkably alike, right down to our adorable curly tails! Now I’m ready to find the person who will love me forever. ❤️ A few things you should know about me: 😴 Professional Dreamer: I actually smile in my sleep! I’m pretty sure I’m dreaming about belly rubs, snacks, and my very own forever family. 🐱 Cat Lady in Training: I absolutely LOVE cats! Dogs? Love them, too! People? Oh, most definitely! My heart has plenty of room for everyone. 🧦 World-Class Foot Warmer: Cold feet? Problem solved! I’m the perfect size to curl up by your feet and keep them cozy. Think of me as a living, breathing, curly-tailed heating pad. 🦴 The Gentlest Little Lady: I take treats ever so sweetly and have the kindest disposition. I’m a polite girl who believes good manners and a little sweetness go a long way. ☀️ Professional Sunbather: Give me a sunny spot and a beat-up tennis ball, and I’m in heaven! I’ve collected quite a few tennis balls along the way because, honestly, a girl needs options. 👀 Neighborhood Watch President: I once appointed myself head of neighborhood security, using a pine tree stump as my observation tower. I take my job seriously, although my surveillance hours are pretty flexible. 🐕 Cute as a Bug in a Perfectly Sized Package: At just 32 pounds, I’m big enough for adventures but small enough to fit perfectly into your life, your home, and probably your favorite spot on the couch. 💕 My Biggest Wish: I don’t need a mansion, a fancy bed, or a lifetime supply of tennis balls (although I wouldn’t complain!). I just want a family who will let me love them, follow them around, keep their feet warm, and finally give me the forever home I deserve. Love and curly-tail wiggles, Iris 🐾

Story
Hi there! My name is Pokey. I didn’t pick that name myself, but I guess it kind of stuck. The nice lady who found me gave it to me because I was always the one trailing behind my three siblings. We were out in a really rural part of Arkansas, just trying to figure things out after being left on our own. It was scary, but she made sure we were safe. At first, she thought I was just a little slow… but the truth is, I think I just felt a bit left out. My siblings didn’t always make space for me, and my brother could be kind of hard on me. Sometimes I’d wander off and spend time down the road at a neighbor’s house, just looking for a little peace and kindness. That sweet lady didn’t know how she was going to help all of us, but she didn’t give up. She reached out to The Buford Project Rescue, and they stepped in to give me a chance. I’m really glad she did. It didn’t take me long to claim my favorite chair when I arrived on the scene with my foster family. It fit me pretty perfectly and I love curling up there. I’m only about 32 pounds so I am the perfect size! Some more fun facts about me! Mr. Popular: I LOVE doggie daycare! I play well with everyone because, let’s face it, the party doesn’t really start until I arrive. First Through the Gate: I believe in being a leader, not a follower. If there’s a gate to go through, I’m your guy. Why walk when you can lead the parade? 😎 Part-Time Cat? I’m a little disappointed that my feline foster sibling can’t come with me when I get adopted. We love hanging out together, and honestly, I’m starting to think I might have a little cat in me. I mean, I already have the whole “I do what I want” thing down! 🐱 Promise I am cute as a bug and I hope you will ask to meet me! Happy curly tail signing off, Pokey
