Story
Hi there… we’re Lexi and Jewelia 🤍🐾 — two sweet senior ladies looking for a soft place to land together.I’m Lexi, a 15-year-old tan Dachshund/Yorkie mix with a gentle soul and a lot of life experience. My eyesight isn’t what it used to be — I’m blind in my right eye and only have partial vision in my left — but don’t worry, I still get around just fine and enjoy all the good things in life. I just rely a little more on my nose, my ears, and the comfort of being close to my people. And this beautiful fluffy lady beside me is Jewelia, a 12-year-old cream and white Toy Poodle who still has plenty of pep in her step. Together, we’ve spent nearly our entire lives side by side. We eat together, nap together, explore the yard together… and we’re honestly a little lost without each other. That’s why we’re hoping to find a home that will welcome both of us. 💞 Our world changed recently when our beloved owner passed away. Her husband loved us very much and cared for us the best he could, but his health now requires frequent out-of-town medical visits. With a heavy heart, he made the selfless decision to bring us to the shelter so we could find a home where someone would be there to love and care for us the way we deserve. We are very well-mannered house ladies. We’re fully housebroken, crate trained, and even know how to use potty pads if needed. Despite our age, we still enjoy trotting around the yard together and having little bursts of playful energy. There’s still a lot of joy left in these old bones. 🌼We’re also professional velcro dogs. Our favorite place in the world is right beside our person — whether that’s curled up on the couch, snoozing near your feet, or following you from room to room just to keep you company. We would truly thrive in a home with someone who is retired or works from home so we can spend our golden years surrounded by love and companionship. 🏡💕We’ve always been well cared for and are used to regular grooming, which we handle like little ladies. We do have some dental issues, so we’re currently enjoying a soft food diet — honestly, we think it’s pretty great. What we want most now is simple: a quiet, loving home where we can stay together, share cozy naps, and spend our days giving love to someone who needs it just as much as we do. Senior dogs have a special kind of love to give — gentle, loyal, and full of gratitude. If you open your heart and your home to us, we promise to fill it with warmth, companionship, and the sweetest little tail wags you’ve ever seen. 🤍🐾Please call 479-394-5682 to learn more about us. We’ll be right here… waiting together for our second chance. 💕****************All animals at HSO are current on their vaccinations and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
