Story
Charlie Brown, aka Charlie is a male red Dachshund. He is 10 years old and he weighs about 15.5 pounds. Charlie’s full medical history is available. He is neutered, regularly and fully vaccinated including rabies, always on preventives and had his second dental of his life in March 2025. His annual was just completed Oct ‘25. Charlie is ready for adoption. Charlie was adopted in late 2015 by his mom who went on to adopt two other boys from this rescue over the years. Unfortunately the boys lost their mom this summer. We’ve known Charlie from his original rescue at 9 weeks old, so basically his whole life. He is exactly what a dachshund should be. Charlie is into his person but he has a stubborn streak too. At his foster home he is obsessed with the cat so we don’t recommend a home with cats. Charlie is easy going about meeting people and likes everyone including children. He knows how to ride in the car and walk on a leash. Charlie is kennel trained and potty trained. He is a little food obsessed so don’t be late with breakfast! Charlie can sleep in the big bed or his kennel. He walks up to you and looks up when he wants attention and he loves to cuddle during TV time. Charlie is a great companion. He likes other dogs but he is also fine without. We are seeking the perfect home for Charlie where we can continue to keep up with him and his life. Adoption fee is $200 for Charlie. Story
Happy is a female tan with white mix breed we were told dachshund/beagle but the short ears came from somewhere! She is 1.5 years old and she weighs about 26 pounds. Happy is spayed and vaccinated including rabies. Happy is heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm preventive. Happy is ready for adoption. Happy was surrendered to animal control because her family said she was being picked on by other dogs in the home and she was fearful. Happy does get very nervous about some things, like cars going by, but she has not been fearful nor aggressive with dogs. She is also fine with humans given a little warming up time. Happy’s favorite things are food, food, and treats. We think you can teach her anything with food and consistency. Happy enjoys playtime outside especially if you stay outside with her. She also enjoys leash walks but does better on a path or trail than along a busy street. Happy knows her name. She is crate trained and potty trained. We think Hqppy will thrive with a predictable routine and home life. She is not a girl to love change and adventure. Happy would do best with a fenced back yard or regular quiet leash walks. Adoption fee is $200.
