Story
Greetings. My name is PEANUTS (Peanut) and here is some info about me:Breed: Dachshund/Chihuahua mixAge: 5 yrsGender: maleWeight: 14 lbsHeight: (ground to shoulder)Country of origin:Highlight(s): sweet, affectionate, super smart, playful, loyal I mean, just look at this face? Who can resist it? The pleading eyes, the happy laugh, my irresistable charm...Found hiding in the street under cars, I had an injured leg. It’s believed I was likely hit by a car.So, I had surgery done on my hip not long ago. Everything went well and my incision has healed. I just need a home that can continue to spend some time working on my rehab. My rescuer is trying to find a foster now who can assist until I get to you. I will need some stretches & massage on that leg & slow walks on a leash. Swimming would be ideal. I did go to physical therapy for a while, but it is difficult for my rescuer to continue the routine for me.My energy level is a bit low right now, while I work back to full strength. I have to take it easy until then.I'm a really sweet guy, who also tends to be very smart.Affectionate is my middle name, that gives you an idea about my temperament. I would love to find a home with another pup my size to play with, if possible. Well, once I'm fully rehabbed. I get aling fine with other pups. No idea about cats or kids, as I haven't had those interactions. If you are interested in a groovy guy, loyal to the core, I'm yer boy.More videos: https://youtu.be/PN6UYIYFNl8, https://youtu.be/wvVSEQJuAu8,  https://youtu.be/g1qyuZkLSto Energy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknownKids: unknown Fears: none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training: crate trained in processLeash skills: learning. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: in process. Please help me complete learning! Health notes: previously injured hip, had femoral head ostectomy surgery on left side.I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. ##2726799##

Sweet like Honeybee <3 Who needs some extra sweetness to add to their family? Honeybee might just be the girl for you! She is full life, curiosity and love and ready for a family to shower her with affection. Honeybee is currently in a foster home with her sister Booboo and although they love each other and could happily carry on living together, there can sometimes be some sibling rivalry for attention, toys and food and so we believe that Honeybee may enjoy being the one and only Queen Bee of her new house (although a dog savvy cat may be allowed to live alongside her). If she could, Honeybee would climb into your pocket and go with you everywhere, every minute of every day! (especially up and down stairs because they can be tricky with such little legs and a long body). When Honeybee feels lonely she isn't afraid to vocalize her feelings, so she would ideally prefer a home where her family can be around most of the time or where she can tag along for the adventure. They say "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" but Honeybee wants to prove that wrong! With plenty of patience, a quiet environment (and maybe the odd wiener or two), Honeybee is learning how to "sit", "stay" and walk on a leash. She's also trying really hard with her potty training and will use her pee-pads.Honeybee is spayed, microchipped and up to date on all her vaccines, deworming and flea and tick treatment but is still awaiting some dental surgery at the end of May which will be covered by the SPCA.If you want to enjoy the sweetness of Honeybee then please fill out an application using the link below. https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Red Weight: 5.7 Age: 7yrs 1mths 3wks

Story
Hello!  My name is Rupert.  Here is some information about me: Breed: Dachshund Mix Age: 4 years old Gender: Male Weight: 10 lbs Height: tbd Meet Rupert Rupert may only weigh 10 lbs, but his heart is absolutely huge. He was one of 14 dachshunds abandoned together on a dirt patch in California, left with only some food and water and no understanding of where his family had gone. It’s the kind of start no dog deserves… and yet, when shelter staff approached, Rupert did something incredible—his tail wagged. Despite everything, he chose trust. Shelter staff describe Rupert as friendly, gentle, and eager for connection. He’s the kind of little dog who will quickly become your shadow, following you from room to room, happiest just being near his person. Like many dachshunds, he’s deeply loyal, wonderfully expressive, and has that charming mix of curiosity and spunky personality that makes the breed so beloved. He’ll likely be your cuddle buddy, your couch companion, and your tiny best friend all rolled into one. On April 26th, Rupert will arrive in Vancouver, ready to leave his past behind and start fresh. What he’s dreaming of now is simple—a safe home, a warm lap, and a family who will never let him go. Rupert is ready to love with his whole heart… he’s just waiting for someone to love him back. I get along with: Dogs: yes Cats: unknown Kids: unknown Energy Level: tbd Fears/Prey Drive: tbd Training: tbd Leash Skills: tbd. Please be prepared to continue with my training. Housetrained: no.  Please assist me in learning where to go in my new home. Health: I am up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and will be neutered in Canada. My adoption fee is $850 CAD plus taxes.  This includes my transport to Canada and my neuter surgery. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be charged the passenger fee in addition to this. [MID EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##2718074##

Good with dogs,
Story
Hello!  My name is Stanley.  Here is some information about me: Breed: Dachshund Mix Age: 2 years old Gender: Male Weight: 10 lbs Height: tbd Meet sweet Stanley Stanley is a tiny 10 lb dachshund mix who arrived in Canada on April 26th after being rescued from a heartbreaking abandonment situation in California alongside several other small dogs. Since arriving, Stanley has been safe in foster care and is slowly learning what it means to feel secure, cared for, and loved. Right now, Stanley is still very much decompressing. The world feels big, unfamiliar, and sometimes scary to him. New sounds, sudden movements, and busy environments can make him nervous, and he is still building trust with people at his own pace. His foster family has been giving him the patience and gentle reassurance he needs, and while progress is slow, there are already small signs of the sweet little dog hiding underneath his fear. Stanley currently feels safest being hand fed and is not yet comfortable eating from a food bowl on his own. He enjoys quiet spaces, soft beds, and calm, kind humans who allow him to approach on his terms. He is not a “ready-made” confident companion yet — but with time, patience, and consistency, we truly believe Stanley has the potential to blossom into a loving and devoted little dog. Stanley is looking for a calm, quiet home with patient adopters who understand that rescue dogs sometimes need time to heal emotionally. A peaceful environment with predictable routines and gentle encouragement will help him continue gaining confidence. Another calm, friendly dog could also help show him that the world is safe. Watching a frightened dog slowly learn to trust is incredibly rewarding, and Stanley deserves a family willing to give him that chance. Beneath those cautious eyes is a little dog who simply needs kindness, safety, and time. If you believe in giving shy dogs the space to bloom, Stanley may be waiting for you I get along with: Dogs: unknown Cats: unknown Kids: unknown Energy Level: tbd Fears/Prey Drive: tbd Training: tbd Leash Skills: tbd.
