Since not all of our pets come into the store each day, adoption meet-and-greets are scheduled by appointment. Meet Cheeto James  Yes, the name is real… and yes, it comes with a legendary backstory. This guy was living his free-range orchard life (for who knows how long) until someone had the brilliant idea to lay down a trail of Cheetos leading into a live trap. And just like that… crunch crunch crunch… Cheeto James was born  We’re guessing he’s about 20 pounds of low-riding mystery—maybe a little dachshund (doxie), maybe a sprinkle of terrier, maybe a dash of “who even knows,” but 100% adorable. Now that he’s safe, we’re getting to know the real him—and he’s a gentle, sensitive little guy who just needs a minute to feel comfortable.    The Cheeto James highlights: About 20 lbs of compact cuteness Likely a doxie/terrier mystery mix Does well with other dogs Has been good around kids in the store (just not thrown into chaos yet) Eats his kibble like a champ (canned food? hard pass… he’s selective   His personality: A little shy at first—he’s more “slow burn” than instant best friend Once he warms up, he’s sweet, loyal, and quietly affectionate Not a dog park, party-all-day type of guy Would thrive in a calm, patient home that lets him settle in at his own pace Cheeto James isn’t here for the chaos—he’s here for the cozy life.
