Meet Houdini Looking for some magic in your life? Look no further than the amazing and captivating Houdini! This one year old male who knows what lowrider mix came all the way from Louisiana when the shelter no longer had space for him. Since his arrival, he's quickly become a favorite of everyone he meets with his happy go lucky, friendly, and outgoing personality. This little guy is always up for life's next great adventure. He's made friends with several other dogs and seems to match his play style well with whatever dog he's playing with so would do well in a home with other dogs. He's met a few children and seemed to understand they were smaller and easier to knock over and did very well with them! We have not seen him with cats specifically but he's seen several squirrels and rabbits while out and about and did not seem to care at all! So if you're looking for a handsome and goofy guy to enjoy life with, Houdini is the pup for you! Houdini has spent some time out of the shelter as part of our Doggy Day Out program and here's what the volunteer had to say: "I've walked Houdini a few times at the shelter and he's just been one of those ones you can't help but smile when you see him. He gets so excited his little wiggly body goes 100 miles an hour so I wanted to spend some extra time with him. He was great getting his harness on and had no trouble hopping right up into the truck with his little stocky legs right on the center console like he was the co-captain. We went for a trail walk and he was great on the leash and didn't care about any of the wildlife we saw along the way. After our hike, it was time for snacks and refreshments and he was Mr. Social at the meadery, saying hi to every human he could - even if he had to army crawl along to floor to get someone to finally say hi to him. He met a few children and was good about not jumping and was very gentle with them. While he did want to say hi and explore, he did settle down and spent a good amount of time cuddled-up to my side for pets. Houdini was one of the best dogs we've taken out of the shelter and hope he finds his family soon!" If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Marc was left tied to a fence at a local shopping area. When his owner didn't return for him, concerned residents contacted our department. The investigation ran into dead ends in each direction Officer pursued, and now this little guy is ready to move on in life and put his past behind him.This little guy is crate trained, wonderful on a leash, loves to play with toys and would you just LOOK at that HAIR?! This guy is an absolute rockstar! He'll meet you at door when you get home and give you that look, you know, the one that says "no matter what happened today you are home now, and I'll keep you safe, snuggle up with you and give you a reason to smile" How can you go wrong with that?
