Story
Roscoe is approximately 6-7 years old. He is a timid little dog that frightens easily. He would do well with a retired person(s) that is looking for a sidekick. He enjoys taking walks, but he is just as happy to be a couch potato. He gets along with most dogs and typically ignores cats. He should be supervised around small children. He grunts a lot which sounds like growling, but he is a very friendly dog. His DNA has been tested and results will be shared with adopter.

Story
Rascal is a 1 year old, 35 pound mix looking for a home that will love him forever! Our rescue did a DNA test on Rascal and he is 25% dachshund with a mix of 25% Husky and 50% several other breeds. Rascal is a classy guy and very smart as most mixes are. Rascal is a happy boy who needs a home with time to spend with him every single day. He has lots of zip and energy. He would like a home where he could have room to run and have walks every day. A fenced yard is a must for Rascal. Rascal loves to run with his ears flapping in the wind and is filled with joy! Rascal loves to play in the water . Rascal is very affectionate and thinks he is a tiny little lap dog. He loves to snuggle when he is tired after running and playing. Rascal is very playful and would love a home with time to take him on long walks every day. We feel that Rascal would do very well with agility training. Rascal is leash trained however he can be reactive to other dogs when he is walking and he will bark and lunge at them. Rascal thinks everyone should love him, including kids, cats and other dogs. Rascal loves children but can be very enthusiastic with his greetings and will gallop up in greeting and sometimes his brakes fail in his excitement! Rascal would do best in a home with children over the age of 9 years. Rascal gets along well with other dogs, however we recommend that he be closely monitored in a home with dogs smaller than he is because he is very exuberant and wants to play with everyone. We do not recommend Rascal to a home with cats for this reason. Rascal is house trained and crated trained and uses a doggy door well. He is a puppy so his new family will need to help him have a regular potty schedule. Rascal can get distracted outside by sniffing and exploring and sometimes will ‘forget to go’ so he does need to be monitored during potty breaks. AAll rescue dogs go thru a period of adjustment so understanding and patience is important. Rascal is intelligent and has learned commands in his foster home in Maryland. He loves loves loves to go for car rides and wants to sit ‘shot gun’ to have best views! He is curious about every car going by and so interested in the world around him. This happy boy sleeps in his kennel on his blankie at night. He is does very well in his crate with no accidents. Rascal is still a puppy and he’s working on his leash walking. He understands the command SIT and will listen to his foster mom when she asks him to do so. Rascal does resource guard his food dish. This fabulous boy is ready for someone to love him! Are you the lucky one to welcome him home? Apply to adopt Rascal today!

Story
Yara, (more white) age 5, and Zuri, (more brown) age 3, are bonded double piebald miniature smooth dachshunds. Tiny girls, Yara weighs about 9 pounds and Zuri weighs about 13 pounds. Yara is completely blind and Zuri has limited vision in one eye and no vision in the other eye. Their vision loss is due to double dapple or double piebald gene. Yara and Zuri are very loving sweethearts who are looking for a home together. The fact that they have vision impairment doesn’t slow them down or diminish their love of life in their foster home in Texas! They are very bonded and always want to be together. They love to play together and will happily spend the entire day together. Yara and Zuri are so bonded that their foster mom in Texas says it is like having just one dog as wherever one goes, the other is right there as well. The two of them do all things together, including eating out of the same bowl! This sweet and loving pair like nothing more than cuddling up with their person. They have not been tested with children and due to their lack of vision we would not recommend them for a home with children under the age of 13 years. They have not been cat tested but do get along with other dogs however due to their lack of vision and small stature we constant supervision would be a must. Yara and Zuri are house trained and crate trained. They love their crate and sleep together in it at night. Yara and Zuri will need time and patience in their new home to become accustomed to where their potty area will be and how to get there. All rescue dogs go thru a period of adjustment so understanding and patience is important, but for these vision impaired sweeties patience and love will be doubly important. Yara and Zuri are not leash trained and quite fearful on the leash. They require a yard with a very secure fence and no pool access (again due to their vision loss ). Their safety must be always a consideration If you are ready to meet the loves of your life please apply to adopt these two little cuddle bugs today. They would love to snuggly up beside you on the couch as soon as possible !

Story
Priss and Marley are a lovely bonded pair looking for their forever home. Marley is 10 years old and is a slender 9 pounds and Priss is 13 years old and is a tiny 7 pound lady. Priss is a submissive sweetie and Marley runs the show! Marley and Priss are loving girls. They love to get and receive cuddles. These two sweethearts get along with other dogs and would do well in a home with respectful children 10 years of age and older. Marley and Priss are both fine with cats, although Marley may bark at them. They are leash trained and will do well with some gentle walks. We do not know or understand when or why, but someone in their past has docked each of their tails by .5 inch. These lovely girls are house trained and crate trained. Like most dachshunds they need to be let outside on a regular basis to ensure there are no accidents. Like all dogs, they will need to be confident in their environment to have good potty habits. All rescue dogs go thru a period of adjustment so understanding and patience is important. Priss and Marley would love a home where they can sleep in the big bed and have that special loving time with their new family. They are a bit playful but mostly they are calm and cuddly. They spend most of their time together in their foster home in New Mexico. Priss has a bit of a sensitive tummy and her food should be monitored. Priss has some separation anxiety and would love a home where her human would be home most of the time. Marley will eat anything and everything like most dachshunds do! Miss Marley is a talker and will have conversations with you all day long given the opportunity! She loves to be engaged with her person and is a very social girl. These lovely girls are just waiting for their forever family to hold them close! Apply to adopt them today!
