She has been spayed, had a dental and all her shots. This girl is a sweetie. She’s a little shy at first but warms up and just wants to be loved. She would be fine with another adult, small dog or by herself if you worked from home or very newly retired. This is not a couch potato. She likes walks and playing so don’t apply if you just want someone to sit with you on the couch. Our must haves for sweet Malorie are: Fenced in yard Another small adult friendly dog, male or female Someone that can be home more than not No apts, high rises or condos as Dachshunds do bark If you meet these requirements and want to know more about Malorie then email us or if you know she’s the one fill out that application. ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ============== AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten. If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal. We cannot adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures. To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3. Click this link to apply: https://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/apply, it will take you to the application form. Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. Please look for dogs on your coast.

Story
Rescued from the forest area, this little girl is lucky to be alive! She is timid and sweet. The good Samaritans that found her had to trap her because she was so afraid. She is doing well with love and kindness and we are working on finding her a forever family. She is young.  With adult teeth but possibly still under a year.  Bailey will need a fenced in property as she is a flight risk.  She will need a SECURED fenced in property.  She is shy at first and scared to trust.  Once you earn her trust she is a silly girl.  She ADORES cats and loves to play with both dogs and cats.  She is a happy little girl but it is evident that she has not lived a happy life before coming to us.  Every new noise, anything new that you introduce her to scares her.  She will need an understanding home. ##2345741##

Story
GetALong Dachshund Rescue is pleased to introduce Greta and Shotzy. Greta and Shotzy are 9 years old, and weigh about 14 pounds. They are looking for their forever home together. This wonderful bonded pair are extremely loving. Their favorite place to be is with their person. They are looking for a home where they can sleep in the big bed and have lots of cuddles. They would like a home where their person is home with them most of the time, and where there are no children under the age of 10 years. They have not been cat tested but get along well with other dogs who are their own size. Because they are both very submissive, we are looking for a home for them without large dogs. They would like a home with a fenced yard so they can enjoy sunbeams and zoomies. Shotzy and Greta are very playful. They enjoy playing with toys and each other. They are very bonded and want to give each other kisses and cuddles and also love to share their love with their person. Both love to go for car rides and enjoy being anywhere their person is. They are working on their leash walking in their foster home in Ohio and are improving every day. Shotzy and Greta are both house trained. As with all rescue dogs it is to be expected that they may go through a period of adjustment when they come to their forever home, and patience and understanding will be important. Both Shotzy and Greta are crate trained. Greta and Shotzy are waiting for their forever home! Are you going to be the lucky one to adopt the sweetest dogs ever? Greta and Shotzy are going to make some lucky adopter very very happy! Apply today to adopt them!

Story
Rusty is a special boy who is looking for a home that can see beyond his handsome face. He is damaged and needs a home where he will be given understanding and compassion. Rusty is a gorgeous 7 year old , 18 pound, red purebred longhaired dachshund. Sadly, Rusty has been damaged and can be reactive to certain interactions and touches. He and his new family need to consult behavioural training to ensure that he will have a safe and happy life. Rusty has bitten. His bites have been triggered by unwanted touches and at times when he is feeling scared or unwell. Rusty gets along with respectful adults and other dogs. He should not interact with children under the age of 18 years. He is working on his leash training in his foster home in Maryland and he is house trained and crate trained. More than with most dogs, Rusty will need a substantial time for adjustment and decompression in his new home. Rusty loves to sleep in the big bed and he does enjoy playing with toys. Rusty loves car rides and enjoys walks and will happily accept touches to put his harness on because he knows that he will be doing something fun! Rusty will accept some pets but it has to be on his terms. Rusty is a special boy who needs a home that will understand him and be patient. Are you the one to give him a chance ?
