Meet Fawn Fawn and her best friend Gus were surrendered when their dad could no longer care for them. These two are bonded and will be adopted together. We understand that might make it harder for them to find a home, but their love for each other is deep and they thrive when together. Fawn is a doxi. She’s about 1.5 years old. Fawn has a beautiful fawn colored smooth coat and warm brown eyes. She is a little overweight right now and we’re watching her diet closely. Fawn is an angel. She has the sweetest personality. She and Gus will both get in your lap for a good snuggle. Both pups walk well on leashes and enjoy getting out on walks and exploring They travel fine in a car. They like other dogs and both do fine with cats. They are calm, and quiet yet very playful. They are an adorable and happy couple. They love running in the yard and exploring. They enjoy sunbathing too. These two will make for wonderful companions. We don’t think they are house-trained, but we think they could learn quickly. If you love smaller dogs, and the doxi breed especially, check out their profiles. They would love to be part of a family who treats them kindly and loves them. If looking to welcome Fawn and Gus to your heart and home, fill out an application at www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Please email our shelter (smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net) or call our shelter at 706-865-4135 and leave a message to make sure we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.

Story
Meet Tucker Sweet Tucker and his brother Archie were surrendered when his family fell on hard times. His mama was run over. He and his brother survived but were living outside. Once they were surrendered, the brothers were cleaned up, fed and put into foster care. They are thriving! Tucker may be shy of the camera but he’s an energetic, happy and healthy puppy. He and Archie play all day until they are spent, and only then is it time for a nap. Lol! Tucker is curious, playful, sweet and ready to find a loving family. We’re not sure what his breeds are but mom was small/ medium size. We are guessing maybe dachshund/beagle mix. Tucker isn’t growing a ton and may take after mom. If looking for an adorable three month old puppy to welcome to your family, Tucker and Archie are a bonded pair and will need to be adopted together. Tucker and Archie are pretty cute! Story
Meet Archie Little Archie has the sweetest eyes and cutest ears! Archie and his brother Tucker were surrendered when their family lost their home. Sadly, their precious mom had been run over and the boys were living outside. We gladly accepted the siblings into our no-kill shelter. They were cleaned up, fed and whisked off to foster care where they are thriving. We think they might be dachshund/beagle mixes but who knows? We just know they are adorable. They are bonded brothers and will need to be adopted together. Archie is ball of energy and loves playing with his brother. The boys play all day and then collapse in a puppy pile to reenergize. Lol! Archie is sweet, silly, out-going and friendly. His mom was small to medium size and Archie looks to take after her. He is absolutely adorable and ready to find his forever home. Story
Meet Lyle! Lyle was brought into the local shelter from the emergency vet after being found. Likely hit by a car, he had a fractured pelvic bone which healed with crate rest. He was found to be HW positive and is almost done with his treatment, which also requires crate rest... Lyle is not impressed with crate rest! He wants to RUN! Run, run, run and then snuggle! He likes to play chase with other higher-energy dogs and will need an active home to take him on daily sniffy walks, hikes, and fun, active things once his HW crate rest is over. His last HW treatment is scheduled for 8/18, and he should be off crate rest for 30 days after that. Lyle is a SHORT stack. He is only 32 pounds and about 24 inches in length. He takes up even less space in the bed when he curls up to sleep under the covers in a ball. He also likes to chew on antlers and shred fluffy toys to bits. Lyle would make a great family pet for an active family who would take him everywhere and work on his recall. Lyle is an escape artist, and he finds the big, wide world way more interesting than crate rest. Learning to wait at doorways will be a necessity! Do you want a bathroom buddy who will follow you everywhere, unless he gets way from you..., and give you the BEST bedtime snuggles???? Lyle is your man! Lyle is being fostered in Anderson, SC, and his adoption fee is $150. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don't forget to follow us on social media for updates on our animals! * Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs, we can only guess at the predominant breed or breed mix. Pawsitive Impact gets to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. * Pawsitive Impact expects all adopted dogs to enroll in a formal positive reinforcement dog training class with their new owners. Training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog and improve your relationship with your pet.
