Story
Meet Archie Little Archie has the sweetest eyes and cutest ears! Archie and his brother Tucker (Tucker is pending adoption) were surrendered when their family lost their home. Sadly, their precious mom had been run over and the boys were living outside. We gladly accepted the siblings into our no-kill shelter. They were cleaned up, fed and whisked off to foster care. Archie is back in the shelter. He's doing great. He's seven months old now. We think he could be a dachshund/beagle mix but who knows? We just know he's adorable. Archie is ball of high energy and puppy crazy. He loves playing with other pups. Archie is sweet, silly, outgoing and friendly. A fenced yard will be a must. His mom was small to medium size and Archie looks to take after her. He is absolutely adorable and ready to find his forever home. If looking for a terrific puppy, get your application in. If interested in welcoming Archie to your heart and home, please submit an application online at: www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Once you’re on our home page, you can click on “How To Adopt” to pull up the dog application form. Please email our shelter (smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net) to make sure we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.

Story
This is my last resort. I've ask all friends & family. Not enough room to say everything here. Lil Poe is a mix of a couple breeds. I have had him since he was small enough to fix in the palm of my hand. 4 years old, 21-22 lbs. We have a newer baby, & my job is very demanding so he isnt getting the attention he needs. He stays in his kennel (with the door open) during the day until he hears me home from work. My wife has tried to get him to come out during the day & play but he just doesnt seem to want to. He is very sweet. Loves squeaker balls, & ripping apart squeaker toys to get the squeaker lol. He loves to sleep under blankets, & between my legs is where he usually is when I'm home. He stayed with my sister once for about a week, it took him a couple days to actually want to move, eat, or drink water. She had a friend bring over their little dogs she said he had a blast & he started sleeping with her. He needs a loving home. Grew up with cats & dogs. He comes with lots of stuff.

Story
Meet Lyle! Lyle was brought into the local shelter from the emergency vet after being found. Likely hit by a car, he had a fractured pelvic bone which healed with crate rest. He was found to be HW positive and is almost done with his treatment, which also requires crate rest... Lyle is not impressed with crate rest! He wants to RUN! Run, run, run and then snuggle! He likes to play chase with other higher-energy dogs and will need an active home to take him on daily sniffy walks, hikes, and fun, active things once his HW crate rest is over. His last HW treatment is scheduled for 8/18, and he should be off crate rest for 30 days after that. Lyle is a SHORT stack. He is only 32 pounds and about 24 inches in length. He takes up even less space in the bed when he curls up to sleep under the covers in a ball. He also likes to chew on antlers and shred fluffy toys to bits. Lyle would make a great family pet for an active family who would take him everywhere and work on his recall. Lyle is an escape artist, and he finds the big, wide world way more interesting than crate rest. Learning to wait at doorways will be a necessity! Do you want a bathroom buddy who will follow you everywhere, unless he gets way from you..., and give you the BEST bedtime snuggles???? Lyle is your man! Lyle is being fostered in Anderson, SC, and his adoption fee is $150. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don't forget to follow us on social media for updates on our animals! * Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs, we can only guess at the predominant breed or breed mix. Pawsitive Impact gets to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. * Pawsitive Impact expects all adopted dogs to enroll in a formal positive reinforcement dog training class with their new owners. Training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog and improve your relationship with your pet.

She came to us from Cherokee County with her sister Ethel, and while parts of her story are unknown, one thing is very clear… this girl is full of love and life. Lucy is missing her left eye, but it hasn’t slowed her down for even a second. She plays, explores, and zooms around like any happy puppy, just with a little extra character. And then there’s her signature move… the smile. 😁 Lucy shows her teeth when she’s excited, and it is equal parts hilarious and adorable. It’s not a warning… it’s a “OH MY GOSH HI I LOVE YOU” face, and once you see it, you’ll never forget it. At around 6 months old and 20 lbs, Lucy is the perfect small-sized sidekick. Story
Ronnie is a lovable senior with plenty of pep left in his step! At just 7–8 years old and a slightly chunky 16 pounds, he’s the perfect little companion with a fun, goofy personality. He’ll make you laugh with his silly antics, then happily crash out for a cozy nap right after. Ronnie came to us from animal control and is ready for a fresh start with a family to call his own. He’s a sweet soul who may be a little shy when first meeting new people, but it doesn’t take long for his warm, affectionate nature to shine through. He’s both (respectful kids) kid-friendly and dog-friendly, making him a wonderful addition to many types of homes. Ronnie is also house-trained and enjoys being part of the daily routine. Ronnie does have dry eye in one eye and requires a simple prescription medication, but he handles it like a champ and doesn’t let it slow him down one bit. If you’re looking for a loyal, easygoing companion with a playful spark and a heart of gold, Ronnie might just be your perfect match.
