Story
This is my last resort. I've ask all friends & family. Not enough room to say everything here. Lil Poe is a mix of a couple breeds. I have had him since he was small enough to fix in the palm of my hand. 4 years old, 21-22 lbs. We have a newer baby, & my job is very demanding so he isnt getting the attention he needs. He stays in his kennel (with the door open) during the day until he hears me home from work. My wife has tried to get him to come out during the day & play but he just doesnt seem to want to. He is very sweet. Loves squeaker balls, & ripping apart squeaker toys to get the squeaker lol. He loves to sleep under blankets, & between my legs is where he usually is when I'm home. He stayed with my sister once for about a week, it took him a couple days to actually want to move, eat, or drink water. She had a friend bring over their little dogs she said he had a blast & he started sleeping with her. He needs a loving home. Grew up with cats & dogs. He comes with lots of stuff.

Meet Benji, the ultimate "velcro dog" who is ready to dedicate his life to being your new best friend. Benji is a perpetual ray of sunshine. He is almost always wearing a happy, signature smile that seems to say, "I’m just so glad to be here!" He is a deeply loyal companion who is happiest when he is right by your side. If you are sitting on the couch, expect Benji to be right there in your lap, soaking up every bit of love and asking for belly rubs. While Benji is a rockstar when it comes to human interaction, he is still working on his social skills with other dogs. He will need an adopter who is patient and willing to go slow with introductions. Because he loves his people so much, he would thrive in a home where he can be the center of attention and get all the belly rubs he deserves! Story
We are looking to find the perfect forever home for our sweet pup. We rescued him from the Humane Society back in December 2019, and he has brought so much joy, energy, and love into our lives ever since. He is a fun-loving dog with a big personality and lots of energy. He loves to run, play, and be part of whatever is going on—whether that’s a walk, backyard playtime, or just hanging out with his people. After he gets his energy out, he’s also a big cuddle bug and will happily curl up next to you. He is wonderful with children and gets along great with other pets, making him a great addition to a family home. We truly want to find him a home where he will get the time, attention, and love he deserves.

Oh, and she’ll help you pull stuff out of the dryer but she won’t help you fold them, that’s up to you but she’s off with a sock or anything she can get her mouth on and then the chase is on. It’s hard to believe that she is a retired breeder dog as friendly as she is but understand she will still need help with housebreaking and learning to walk on a leash. If you have the patience and want to add some spice into your life then she would be perfect for you! Our must haves for Rudy are: A fenced in yard Someone that can be home more than not Another small adult playful dog that doesn’t mind her stealing their toys No apartments, high rises or condos If you are interested in giving Rudy her last home than it’s important that you fill out the online adoption application right away because she won’t last long we can promise you that, oh and she loves attention and is a bit of an attention hog. ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ============== AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten. If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal. There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered. We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures. To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3. Click this link to apply: https://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/apply, it will take you to the application form. Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. Please look for dogs on your coast.

Story
Meet Archie Little Archie has the sweetest eyes and cutest ears! Archie and his brother Tucker (Tucker is pending adoption) were surrendered when their family lost their home. Sadly, their precious mom had been run over and the boys were living outside. We gladly accepted the siblings into our no-kill shelter. They were cleaned up, fed and whisked off to foster care. Archie is back in the shelter. He's doing great. He's seven months old now. We think he could be a dachshund/beagle mix but who knows? We just know he's adorable. Archie is ball of high energy and puppy crazy. He loves playing with other pups. Archie is sweet, silly, outgoing and friendly. A fenced yard will be a must. His mom was small to medium size and Archie looks to take after her. He is absolutely adorable and ready to find his forever home. If looking for a terrific puppy, get your application in. If interested in welcoming Archie to your heart and home, please submit an application online at: www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Once you’re on our home page, you can click on “How To Adopt” to pull up the dog application form. Please email our shelter (smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net) to make sure we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.

For more information on any of our pets, please feel free to email us at INFO@HUMANEMORGAN.ORG give us a call at 706-343-9977. All dogs are heartworm negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. All cats are current on vaccines/deworming, and microchipped. We are open 12pm-5pm Sunday-Friday and 10 am-5pm on Saturday, we schedule our last adoption at 4pm everyday to allow our staff enough time to feed and walk dogs. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking. Please consider the time and commitment it takes to provide the necessary building blocks for these special babies, prior to submitting your application. If you have any questions please email us at info@humanemorgan.org and provide name of the animal you are interested in, in the subject line.
