Mabel came to us from a family members litter, we unfortunately did not know the rule about taking in two dogs from the same litter and we got on of her sisters as well. When they were about three they started to fight and have issues with litter mate syndrome. Training has not seemed to help and as years have gone one the fighting has worsened to the point of the two dogs having to be completely separated. On her own Mabel is an incredibly sweet dog who loves attention and cuddles more than anything in the world. We can no longer give her the attention she needs due to her and her sister being secluded away from each other. We have a one year old who she seems to do okay with but she has very little contact with him so I’m not sure how she would do with kids on a regular day to day. She just needs a home where she can have plenty of love and attention and be a happy girl again!

Which one you get depends on how well she trusts you. We don't know much about her background because she was found in a shelter but she probably wasn't socialized as well as she should've been. Like a lot of smaller dogs she can be very nervous and opinionated at initial meetings with new people and because of this she scares people off. She is the type of dog that needs to be essentially ignored and left to make decisions on her own for the first 24 hours after meeting you. If you can handle letting her come around on her own terms- she will be your best friend! She will need continued help with house training, crate training, leash training, and general socialization. A calm and understanding home without a lot of traffic is essential.  ##2632024##
