Meet Lynn! ***Heartworm Positive***This short-stocked little lady is new to PCHS and came to us from a southern rescue partner. She was a mama dog previously and did a good job raising her pups. Once her pups were weaned, it was time for her to find a place of her own.Lynn is heartworm positive and will need to finish going through her treatment after adoption. This is a cost that will be covered by PCHS and all medications will be provided. Lynn is thought to be around 3 years old and possibly a Doxie mix, but we really don`t know for sure. She is about 36 pounds and has a very quiet disposition. Lynn can be a little nervous meeting new people so a home with a lot of loud, rambunctious kids might be too much for her. She would thrive in a low key house where she can spend quality time with her people and take a leisurely walk in the afternoons. Does Lynn sound like a match for you? Meet Sophia Rose 💗 Sophia Rose is a 5 year old dachshund mix with a soft heart and an even softer middle. This sweet girl is currently a little overweight and will need a family committed to helping her slim down safely through portion control and gentle daily walks. She is not a high energy dog and would much rather be curled up next to her people than running laps around the yard. Sophia is calm and very devoted to her owners. Once she knows you, she bonds deeply and loves being close. She is the kind of dog who will quietly follow you from room to room just to be near you. With new people, she can be shy and takes a little time to warm up. She is not reactive or dramatic, just cautious. Given patience and space, she settles in nicely. She would do best in a home that understands she may need a few days to feel comfortable and secure. A quieter environment would likely suit her best, with adults or respectful older children who can give her time to adjust. Sophia Rose is looking for someone who sees the loyal, loving dog she truly is. With a bit of structure and a lot of affection, she is going to thrive. He loves treats and will make faces to convince you to give him more. He's a smart little guy and settles in pretty quickly to new situations. He'll explore but come back to check in every couple of minutes. He was raised with another dog so he can be part of a household with other canines. History: Limo is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon! A Note from the Foster: Hi! I’m Limo, a sweet little dachshund with a big heart and an even bigger love for squeaky toys. I’m still learning the world, so carrying a toy around helps me feel confident — and it’s really cute, I’ve been told. I’m learning that humans are safe and cuddles are good. I get a little nervous with being picked up or petted, so I prefer if you move slowly with me and give me time to trust. But I will take treats right from your hand, sit with you on the couch, and I’m very food-motivated — which means training with me can be both fun and rewarding. I have a low-key energy level and relax a lot of the time. I can keep up on walks with my doggy foster brother, but afterward I’m ready to nap and recharge. Most of the time you’ll find me curled up on the couch or in a dog bed, as long as I’m close to someone. I really love being near my people and doggy friends; I’d prefer a home where someone is around a good amount because being alone can feel a little scary for me right now. I keep my crate clean and dry and sleep in there at night (even though, in typical dachshund fashion, I think crates are kinda silly sometimes). I go potty outside most of the time and my foster mama says I’m super smart and will catch onto full potty training quickly with patience and routine. On walks, I was unsure about the leash at first, but I’m getting better every day when following another dog’s lead. Having another dog around makes me brave, so I would love a home with a friendly dog buddy to show me the ropes. Overall, I’m hoping for a patient family, a calm home, and maybe a confident pup friend to help me continue learning. As a typical doxie, I have a little voice and may alert bark here and there, but nothing too crazy. I’m a gentle soul, learning more every day, and hoping to find a family that sees the magic in a dog who’s still discovering the world. If you’ve got a loving home, a soft voice, and maybe a dog friend to guide me… I think we could be something really special. Love, Limo 🐾
