Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 5/22/23 Still available.  5/3/23 Meet Hannah! This little girl will need a special home. She is part of a group of dogs that were taken in from a hoarder situation that was beyond horrific. All of these dogs are incredibly shy and scared. However, after only a moth or so in their foster homes, they are coming around. They will each require adopters who are very patient and calm around them, while they adjust and learn that they are safe. These babies would not be candidates for families with young children or homes that are super busy/loud. Hannah came into rescue with a litter of puppies who are now all adopted. Hannah is a chihuahua/Dachshund mix (chiweenie). She has made great progress but she is extremely scared of men. We would really like to see her go to a home with another dog. Another dog in the home will help Hannah build her confidence. She is good with dogs of all sizes and has ignored the cat in her foster home.Preference will be given to adopters who have at least 1 other dog who is kind and welcoming. Spayed, UTD on appropriate vaccines, microchipped, heartworm tested (negative), and started on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. In New England.  To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $125-$140 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. For more info regarding adopting, email apps.aasr@gmail.com. Thank you for considering one of our rescue babies! May 27, 2023, 3:55 pm

Meet Heart! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Don’t let the gray on her muzzle fool you, she’s only about 2-3 years old and about 12 pounds. Heart was pregnant when she was rescued, scroll to the last picture to see a sneak peek of her puppies! She is part of a group of dogs that were taken in from a hoarder situation that was beyond horrific. It started out as a breeder but she quickly got in over her head. All of these dogs are incredibly shy and scared. However, after only a couple months in their foster homes, they are coming around. They will each require adopters who are very patient and calm around them, while they adjust and learn that they are safe. These babies would not be candidates for families with young children or homes that are super busy/loud. She needs to be spayed and then will be ready for adoption. Heart’s foster mom says- This sweet girl has been with me for two months. She is very gentle. She was the last one out of the hoarder house, and was very fearful for the first several weeks. She is still very scared of men however will settle down for a calmer, softer man. She is very loyal, and has been an exceptional mother. She is crate trained, house broke, very good with cats, and other dogs. Also comes to me when I call her. Overall she is a very good-natured little dog. She will be spayed prior to adoption, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and started on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. Story
Marble - She is a spayed female pup that was rescued off the streets here in Arkansas where she is located. She is 4 months old and very happy and playful. She has very short legs so we can only assume she is dachshund or Bassett hound mix . She may have Australian Shepard in her as well due to the colors. She is currently 13 pounds. We can provide a picture of the mother upon request. Please email us for an application. Our adoption includes the transport fee.

His adoption is $250 and transport from the south to the north is $180 via Mighty Mutts Shipping.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Well my life is like a country song except I don't drive a truck!!  I found myself with hard times living in a dump.  The humans that were to love me DIDN'T!  And even though my life was rough I was luckier than some in the house!!!  When the authorities came to save us they found cats in bottles of water drowned and in totes filled with water drowned :(((  There were 10 dogs, 10 live cats, bunnies and birds all in a single wide trailer yep it was definitely a sad song UNTIL I found myself in a vehicle (that was nicer than my home) headed for the north and a new life!!!  I reside at this place called the Rescue Ranch and boy do I like it!!!!  I mean I have a really hard time sleeping because there is so much fun stuff to do and LOTS of fur friends to play with!!!  The cats are not that thrilled with me because I think its great fun to chase them but they are super nice so they just run and they don't even try to whack me WOW!!!  The other dogs are fun to play with I get into it with Deloris sometimes so mom says we will definitely not go to the same house!  Thats good cause she always tries to steal the show!!!  Well gotta go I just saw Toby saunter by so that means I need to go chase him!  Have a great day I know I will :)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!May 25, 2023, 5:39 pm
