Story
Meet Chikee, an extremely friendly and social dachshund and chihuahua mix! Chikee is 4 years old and was surrendered to PK after her mama was hurt and could no longer care for her. Chikee is incredibly outgoing with both people and other dogs. She’s confident, playful, and affectionate. She’s even good around cats! Chikee hasn’t spent much time around children, but we think she’d be fine around respectful children (she doesn’t love having her paws handled). Chikee is housetrained. She suffers from separation anxiety, though, and would do best in a home where people are around more often than not. Apply for this charming girl at lvpeaceablekingdom.info. Peaceable Kingdom, PA Kennel License #04131, 1049 MacArthur Rd., Whitehall, PA 18052

Story
My name is Darla and I am a very deep thinking, calm, sweet, lap dog that is looking for the perfect laidback home.  I am a Dachshund/Terrier mix that is only 20 pounds and guessed to be 6 years old.  I have lived with a lot of dogs in a home that was not able to care for us properly.  We were fortunately surrendered to Critter Cavalry Rescue so that we could all find better and more stable families to love us.  I am a tad shy when I first meet new people but I sure do blossom and get more perky when I feel safe with you.  I am pretty good on a leash and I am housebroken and crate trained.  My foster mom says I have the sweetest face and eyes that look in to your soul.  Well you know what?  I am searching for the right soul to make me their own and them to be MINE too!  I am the perfect size for so many lifestyles.  I don’t bark and I ride perfectly fine in a car.  Let’s go places this Summer!  I am ready are you!?  Send an email asking about me to ccrnewengland@gmail.com  Let’s be “family” real soon. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 10, 2024, 9:09 am

Story
This little pretty chocolate dappled girl is called Mazie and goodness what a cracker jack she is.  Don’t for minute let those green eyes and chocolate marbled coat fool you to think she is gentle or easy.  She is the CEO of dogs and will run the show at your house if given the chance.  Mazie is 20 pounds and 9 months old.  She is a breed mix of Dachshund and Basset Hound we are told.  Her pics make her look big but she is a “tiny but mighty” little girl.  Mazie is not a fan of any other female dogs in her life or around her.  We don’t know where that came from but the dislike is there so we say…don’t ignore the warning.  She is great with big male dogs, not good with other small dogs or cats, but loves people deeply and wants to be around them.  She needs a fenced yard because she is a runner as most Dachshunds can be and she needs to be able to run and play and get her energy out daily.  Older children would be better for her and she is crate trained, 90% housebroken and she adores going for walks; a very good girl on a leash we can say.  She is beautiful but a “tad” bit complicated, which is why we have outlined the Likes and Dislikes of this girl to a TEE!  We want the right and perfect home and there are lots out there that can give her that.  Tiny but Mighty little Mazie is ready for a home NOW!  Please email us at Critter Cavalry Rescue : ccrnewengland@gmail.com  Tell us where you live when you email asking for information and an application. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 10, 2024, 9:09 am

Story
If you would like to apply to take Bailey home, click the link next to their picture, or Visit our website at Www.godogsgorescue.org and fill out an application! We look forward to hearing from you. Bailey and Baby are 2 super sweet Dachshund and possibly Chihuahua mixes. They are bonded girls who are in need of a loving home together. They came to the rescue together, and we think they are either mother and daughter or maybe even sisters. Bailey is approximately 2 years old, and Baby might be a little younger, around 18 months old. They are such happy, loving little dogs who would love a comfy spot on your lap and in your bed. Baby and Bailey are lower energy dogs, but they do like to run and play a bit outside on a nice day. These babies love to cuddle, go on walks, and spend time with their people. Both girls are great with other dogs and are fine with cats. They are well-behaved and crate- trained as well. Bailey and Baby can't wait to find their forever home, so if you are looking for a couple of lovebugs, these girls are for you

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Will only go to a home with another young small dog or someone taking 2.  Will NOT go to homes with young children as dachshunds are easily injured.  Fenced yard is a plusVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!May 8, 2024, 11:22 pm
