While we think he’s a long-haired Dachshund mix, his golden locks and sweet demeanor have everyone guessing (and swooning). This little adventurer has quite the backstory – Calvin was rescued twice off the streets of San Antonio, earning his title as a certified escape artist. But don’t worry, with the right home and a secure yard, he’s ready to retire from his days of street escapades and settle into a life full of love. Calvin is incredibly friendly and social – he gets along great with other dogs and would love to have a furry sibling or a stay-at-home family who can give him plenty of attention and snuggles. He thrives on companionship and would do best in a home where he’s not left alone for long stretches of time. If you’re looking for a loyal, lovable, and slightly mischievous sidekick, Calvin might just be your perfect match. He’s ready to bring joy, warmth, and a little bit of goofy charm into your life. Story

FosterPenny is a sweet and gentle lady. She is a ten year old, 15 pound dachshund mix. She came to Charming Pet Rescue after her human passed away. She arrived at the rescue with her two sisters, one brother, and two cats. She was quickly picked up by one of our foster families with her brother, Jack. Penny is still mourning the loss of her owner. She is gentle but is still not comfortable enough to come to her foster family when called. However, when the family sits on the couch to watch TV, she quickly jumps up and likes to sit next to you and her brother, Jack. She does allow you to pet her and rub her ears once she is comfortable next to you. She will also come to you if you offer her a treat and will eat it out of your hand. Penny will need time for you to gain her trust but she is making progress every day. Penny is house trained and has gone outside, but due to the stress of a new environment, she has had a few accidents in the home, usually on the pee pads. Penny sleeps well in her crate and gets along well with her brother and the two other dogs in the foster house. Penny has a cataract in her right eye but she seems to deal with it in stride and has no problem doing doggie things. Riley is a sweet girl! She is a 10 year old, 20 pound chihuahua mix. She came to Charming Pet Rescue after her human passed away. She arrived at the rescue with her two sisters, one brother and two cats.After losing her human, Riley is still getting used to her new environment. Riley is just now allowing for you to pet her. Riley will need time for you to gain her trust but she is making progress every day. Riley enjoys naps on the couch and rolling around outside in the grass. She is working on losing a few pounds. While her foster sisters and brother run around, she enjoys walking a few laps in the backyard following her foster mom.Riley is house trained and sleeps in her crate. She gets along well with the three dogs in the foster home.
